My name is Leslie and I am originally from Minnesota. I lived in Canada with my dad as a young person before landing in Arizona.

My whole life has been hard. I started working at the age of 13 alongside my dad.

I have been married and divorced and had two children. I lost my son to fentanyl. My mental health suffered greatly from these life events.

Recently, I moved out of a foster home and now live with my daughter and her fiancé. I hated going home after Program before moving in with my daughter.

Then I found Copa Health and the West Village Day Program. I have made real connections. I used to isolate myself. With the art program, I have found a way to express myself. I have more confidence and self-esteem.

With the Work Program, I have been able to improve my financial means and gain new skills.

Without Copa Health, I don't know what I would do.

I am 40 years old, born in Denver Colorado. I love glitter, jewelry, and perfumes.

I began attending Freestone in January 2016. When I am at Freestone, daily, I present a video of how to bake and cook different meals. I love to play different types of cards and enjoy collecting them.

Before coming to the Village Day program, I was constantly in and out of the hospital and treatment centers. That time of my life was a very dark period and I was without hope.

Copa Health and the East Village was my first experience with a day program. Now I have friends and a purpose in my life. My mood has improved. It is like night and day, the change this program has made. People from my past would not recognize me today.

Art has brought so much more to my life. I never knew I could be an artist until I started painting with Starr in her art class with the Village Day Program. Now my walls are covered with my paintings. I get so many compliments. My self-esteem has increased. I feel proud of my creations.

Because of Copa Health, I look forward to waking up in the morning. I know I am going to have something positive and meaningful to do when I get to the program.

I talk about my program all the time to my family and friends.

I began attending Freestone in November 2016. My first two goals at Freestone were to use my words because I only pointed at things I wanted and would not verbalize my wants and needs. I also strived to learn the value of money because I thought any form of money was trash. After the dedication of Freestone staff working with me every day, I now know that my voice is powerful and beautiful and I know how to purchase items at stores.

My name is Tesa. I am the mother of four grown sons, and I have 14 grandchildren.

I suffer from PTSD.

I find joy in the art that I do at the West Village Day Program.

Having the Village has brought me friendships. "Family doesn't always mean blood." The Village provides me with a safe community.

At the West Village, I feel validated. I feel loved.
