Dr.s. Lauren Jantzie and Shenandoah Robinson -Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, MD
Join this dynamic duo who are trailblazing their way towards a non-invasive drug treatment currently being tested in clinical trials in infants. Dr. Robinson is a pediatric neurosurgeon and Dr. Jantzie is a neuroscientist. Their combined genius has led to a possible treatment being tested for PHH.
Up to 6 guests may attend this event. Date to be agreed upon between the Drs. and the winning bidder.
Expires December 31, 2024
Drs. Peter Jin and Gabe Haller - Washington University in St. Louis, MO
This duo is a genetics powerhouse at Washington University at St. Louis. Want to see the behind-the-scenes work of two geneticists who study hydrocephalus? Drs. Jin and Haller have a lot to share about their research including using a zebrafish as a model to screen for post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus (PHH) drugs. Learn about the other tools used in genetics research for hydrocephalus.
Up to 6 guests may attend this event. Date to be agreed upon between Drs. and winning bidder.
Expires December 31, 2024.
Dr. Bonnie Blazer-Yost - Indiana University, Bloomington, IN
Dr. Blazer-Yost is a leader in hydrocephalus research. She has tested a preclinical drug and even has a patent on it. Dr. Blazer-Yost and her colleagues have also recently created a hydrocephalus research center at IU to foster collaborative efforts in hydrocephalus research locally and globally and to train members of the next generation of hydrocephalus researchers.
Up to 6 guests may attend this event. Date to be agreed upon between Dr. Blazer-Yost and winning bidder.
Dr. Carolyn Harris - Wayne State University - Detroit, MI
Did you know that Dr. Harris has the largest biobank of explanted shunts? She has created this valuable biobank in order to understand why shunts fail and how to improve on them. She brings her expertise as an engineer to understand the detailed dynamics of shunt function. Learn all about her approach in her trailblazing research and the specialized tools that she uses.
Lunch with Dr. Harris following the tour.
Up to 6 guests may attend this event. Date to be agreed upon between Dr. Harris and winning bidder.
Dr. Young Hong Kwon- USC
Did you know that there are genes related to CSF and lymphatics named Yoda1, Jedi 1 & Jedi2, and Luke (Skywalker)? Come learn about CSF dynamics in a lab tour with Dr. Kwon. Did you know that there is an interplay between lymphatics and abnormal brain fluid accumulation? This is Dr. Kwon's expertise. Learn about the genes related to this and how he studies this in the lab.
Lunch with Dr. Kwon following the tour.
Up to 6 guests may attend this event. Date to be agreed upon between Dr. Kwon and winning bidder.
Dr. Tim Cherry - University of Washington, Seattle
What is a microRNA and what does it have to do with hydrocephalus? Dr. Cherry's research aims to understand the genes and pathways that underlie congenital hydrocephalus. Tour his lab and learn what microRNAs are, how they regulate genes during development, and the tools that he uses to understand them.
Lunch with Dr. Cherry following the tour.
Up to 6 guests may attend this event. Date to be a mutually agreed upon date between donor and Dr. Cherry.
Dr. Maria Lehtinen - Boston Children's Hospital
Join Dr. Lehtinen, a leading expert in the choroid plexus, that enigmatic area in the brain that produces cerebrospinal fluid. What does the choroid plexus secrete and why is this important? She studies human and animal choroid plexus from a molecular, cellular, and whole organism level. Understanding this tissue in the brain allows her to understand the root causes of hydrocephalus.
Enjoy lunch with Dr. Lehtinen following the tour.
Up to 6 people may attend this event. Date to be mutually agreed upon between auction wiinner and Dr. Lehtinen.
