The sell-out Yacht Sauce is back! For over 25 years Mike Smith has been perfecting a wonderful Bolognese sauce for the Manna House Soup Kitchen in Newton, NJ. He has become well known for this gourmet treat.

When requested for the purpose of helping various charities, Mike Smith, Past Commodore of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club and his faithful team roll up their sleeves, hit the grocery store, filled up their cart with red and green bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, a host of spices, and...

With supplies in hand, it is off to the butcher for a special blend of ground meats. The process begins in the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club kitchen in order to create the magic that becomes Commodore Mike's Yacht Sauce!

Lakeside Pub Crawl

A fan favorite, our annual auction pub crawl returns - with a new twist!

You drink, we drive! Meet at the Lake Hopatcong Station for this year's lakeside pub crawl on November 11, 2023 at 5PM.

We'll make our way via passenger van to a selection of bars around the lake. Lake Hopatcong Foundation Chair and local historian Marty Kane is buying the first drink!

Breslin Park Walking History Tour with special visit to historic Miss Lotta Crabtree home, in Mount Arlington

Walk to take place Saturday, October 7 at 1:30pm

With many thanks to Sherry and Bob O'Donnell, this walk will include a very special visit inside the former home of Breslin Park's most famous resident, Miss Lotta Crabtree. Beautifully restored, the cottage Lotta's mother had designed for her by the famous American architect Frank Furness and presented as a gift in 1885, is a must see. This is a rare opportunity to see one of the lake's most beautiful homes and learn its history.

About Breslin Park in Mount Arlington:

The single most important factor in Lake Hopatcong's rise as a great resort was the construction of the Hotel Breslin in 1887. The hotel was encircled by elegant cottages, many of which still stand today in Mount Arlington. The development, known as Breslin Park, hosted leaders of industry, and most famous actress of her generation, and even the Vice-President of the United States. Easy-paced, 90 minute narrated walk on mostly flat terrain will be led by the President of the Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum, Marty Kane.
