About Abilis
Who We Are:
Abilis is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides services and supports for more than 800 individuals with disabilities and their families from birth throughout their lives. Founded in 1951, Abilis is a leader serving the special needs community in Fairfield County, Connecticut, in the towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Stamford, Westport and Wilton. The organization has a long-standing reputation for individualized, high quality care. For more information visit www.abilis.us or facebook.com/Abilisinc, or instagram.com/abilis.us.
What We Do:
Starting with its Birth to Three program, Abilis provides early intervention and customized therapies, as well as family education and advocacy, to help individuals achieve important developmental milestones. Early supports and programs are provided at the Therapy Center at Abilis. As individuals grow older, Abilis has programs and activities for all ages. When an individual approaches and enters adulthood, Abilis provides a wide range of Life Services programs, including recreational activities, transition and life skills support, job training, competitive and supported employment, and a choice of residential options.
Abilis believes that those with disabilities have the same rights as everyone. They are entitled to good health care and safety, meaningful choices, achievement, friendship, fulfilling work and a comfortable place to live.
Where are your donations going?
Funds raised from this year's 5th annual Dancing Stars of Greenwich Gala will be restricted to the acquisition and renovation of new program space for Abilis as we continue to go above and beyond what the state provides for services, care and needs. Your support helps us in our mission to deliver high-quality programs and supports to our Abilis program participants and residents. Abilis is also happy to share additional underwriting opportunities to benefit not only those who the organization supports, but also its dedicated staff at Abilis.
