Located in the historic heart of Orange County, Bowers Museum's 9 permanent collection exhibitions showcase art and artifacts from cultures around the world. As the largest and one of the oldest museums in Orange County, Bowers has been voted 'Best Museum' in Orange County for the past 29 years by OC Register Readers.
Hokusei Exhibit: Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760-1849) is the renowned artist behind The Great Wave, one of the most iconic prints ever made. This exhibition includes a beautiful early example of The Great Wave and ventures beyond to feature a broad selection of works that Hokusai produced right up to his death at the age of 90. The presentation of this exhibition is a collaboration between the British Museum and the Bowers Museum. It opens on October 21, 2023 and will run through January 7, 2024.
