My approach is for the viewer to understand and connect with an idea, image, or feeling -through color, brushstroke, and texture.
I enjoy Figurative Abstract, Street Art, Pop Art, Impressionism and Naïve art. These artistic approaches tend to question the conventions of beauty and even what qualifies as "art." They exist on the fringes or in some way challenge the status quo. At the same time, there is something intuitive and accessible in each. Their rawness is relatable, a quality I seek to reproduce in my work.
A theme that I am interested in exploring with my work is how engaging with abstract art can help us to relate better to each other.

Isabella Scott is an illustrator and fine artist from Winnebago, Illinois. She currently lives in Chicago. She has created a wide range of art in a variety of mediums from ballpoint pen to photography. She loves creating a world where she combines fact and fantasy. She has dedicated her career to creating diverse and inclusive work that celebrates the uniqueness of everyone and the world around her.

Isabella's work has been seen in galleries, magazines, murals, and editorial publications. Her strong understanding of visual storytelling has helped her create unique, diverse illustrations that have been on display all throughout Chicago and even internationally in Korea. Her work has been featured in the Chicago Reader and Southside Weekly. She has been in numerous gallery shows including Columbia's March of Mini's, Portrait Show, and Illustrate the Vote. She also is a budding muralist with her latest mural right across Grant Park as a part of the Wabash Art Corridors.

Isabella is determined to make a difference and plans to continue making work that is diverse and inclusive that celebrates the world around her.

I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it! Pablo Picasso, 1883-1973. Art is to life, as the pieces I create speak to the contradictions that filled my world for some time. Being a self-taught artist and choosing "Decoupage" as my form of expression, I did not have rules and/or techniques on how to create art for a guide, I jumped in and followed my instincts and formed my own ideas and rules which is the very meaning of "creativity" and while doing so I began to realize more and more that it was the colors themselves that represented a deeper meaning for me.
Finding it difficult to show my work in galleries the idea for PMAC was born. In 2004 I had the opportunity to show my work in a brand-new gallery in the area and that year I was named Most Sold Emerging Artist. In 2007 I was diagnosed with Kidney Failure and was immediately put on dialysis. I thought that doing art was over for me. As the divine would have it my art was the vehicle that grace was delivered upon me; it saved me. I kept creating and never looked back.
In 2011 I was approached by the Heidelberg Project and was given the opportunity to do my first gallery sponsored solo show which gave me the much-needed confidence to show my work in different states such as Chicago, Washington, Ohio and California just to name a few.
Along with being an artist I am a Curator and In 2017-2018 my experiences afforded me the opportunity to manage the Carr Center Gallery in Downtown Detroit. In 2021 I was a part of the Tri-County MLK Birthday/Black History Month Juried Exhibition where I was awarded and honorable mention and most recently in 2023, I was awarded the Creators of Culture Grant award from Culture Source.
After 20yrs I find that most people often offer golden words of "wisdom" as to the direction your work should go and never pushing you to be the best "you" you can be. From the boldest color to the straightest cut of wood my art is a glimpse to my inner self. With my art I am exposed!

Diana majored in Fine Arts and went on to become Art Director at Northwestern University. Diana is back to Fine Art.. She is well established in the Chicago art scene with numerous group shows, solo shows, gallery representations and multiple publications including two book covers. CBS News also done several special segment on her and her art.
She has designed and painted public art pieces owned by United States Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel and Chicago dignitaries. Diana was commissioned, by Special Olympics, to create a painting to be used nationally and internationally to promote their 50th Anniversary. The painting is now owned by Timothy Shriver in DC. Most recently she co chaired an art exhibition at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art for Special Olympics. She also has work in the permanent collection at the Chicago History Museum..
Outside of the US, Diana has sold artwork in Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands. She was also part of art fair exhibitions in Busan Korea, New York, New York, London and the Hamptons, New York and Art Basel Miami for the last four years.

Mary Beth Brudnak is an emerging jewelry designer/metalsmith located in Chicago, Illinois. Her company, Just MB Jewelry has been creating design for both women and men in sterling silver, gold and brass, since 2001.

She received you BS degree in Interior Design from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois. Her career has been spent in the commercial furniture industry doing sales and marketing with commercial design firms throughout Chicago, the suburbs and Milwaukee.

She started her metals career at Lill Street Studio in Chicago in 2000. Over the last 19 years she has worked in fabrication, wax casting, hydraulic press and anticlastic forming to name a few mediums.
Her background in interior design has influenced her jewelry design process; which includes shapes, color combinations, textures and light. This translates to jewelry design for her where her pieces take on an architectural feel.
Each piece is handmade from either a sketched design or creative idea from architecture or nature.

For this current collection, the inspiration has come from the many layers of city life I can see from my art studio windows. Located on the top floor of a historic sixth story warehouse in the Ravenswood neighbourhood, I have full views of the entire city and everything else for miles and miles. As crazy and hectic city life can be, there are so many layers that can be pulled back to expose the real sense of the surroundings. I find that there is a beautiful sense of peace at various times of the day and I try to capture that feeling and emotion with my work. I use a combination of acrylic paints and mixed media to build up layers and textures. A variety of materials are used such as recycled wood fibers, shredded paperwork, industrial staples, plaster, metal washers and beach sand from my family cottage in Ontario and here from the beaches of Chicago. I apply every layer of texture and colour by hand without the use of paint brushes or palette knives.

Jeremy Noonan is a craft-based artist and acclaimed textile designer whose creative practice spans across the fields of art and design. He founded Noonan Studio LLC in 2008, with the aim of exploring innovative ways of using pattern, color, and materials for a diverse range of surface applications. His approach to design is rooted in a deep understanding of the potential of textiles as a medium for communication and expression. He currently serves as a Professor and Head of Fiber and Textiles at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI, where he shares his passion and expertise with a new generation of artists and designers.

I am an artist in Hawaii who is from a family of artists. I enjoy being creative. I registered as a collage artist with the Hawaii Artist Society years ago. It's just the way my mind thinks. I enjoy photography and often take too many pictures trying to create the best shot. Shadows, mirrors, and mixed media are my favorite. I fell in love with pour painting about six years ago. I am self-taught by all the wonderful artists sharing their work on YouTube. I practice, practice, practice - small paintings mostly - to try and master the many different techniques.
I love to recycle by using old, large, or odd shaped canvases turning them into new works of art. The secret to a successful pour is the mix of paints. Understanding and creating the perfect formula to pour with. Once you have figured that out there are no boundaries. It's like an experiment and trust me you can never duplicate your best creation just move on to the next one!
I am blessed to have been juried in as a painter working two to three days a week at the Byodo-in Temple, Kaneohe Hawaii. They feature two artists a day every day at the gardens. I paint a lot of rainbows, flowers, koi fish, turtles and more. Recently I painted my first 3-D sculpture of a Buddha head. Then I displayed it at the Temple and photographed it just like a person. The prints turned out magnificent. It was a very fun challenge. I named the sculpture "Ajna" after the Third Eye chakra. This is where the conscious meets the unconscious, where our imagination and inner sight reside.
I look forward to meeting you, that's when you will understand I have a lot of imagination!

Norbert Marszalek lives, works and was born in Chicago. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern Illinois University and has also studied at the American Academy of Art and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

His paintings, works on paper, and sculpture have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States, including the George Billis Gallery in Los Angeles; the Richard Levy Gallery in Albuquerque; the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago. Influenced by the New York abstract expressionism of the 1940s and 50s, Los Angeles artist Marc Raphael began teaching himself how to create his first action paintings in 1991. After encountering Jackson Pollock's work for the first time, Raphael was enraptured by the scale, energy, color, and abstraction, awakening his creative spirit.

After living abroad in Paris, France and graduating college, Raphael pursued his passion for painting alongside his 25-year career as a K-12 classroom teacher. Marc reveals that the murder of his brother in 1982 led him to want to make a difference in the world and to do his part to educate children from poor, underserved communities. Although his years as a teacher filled his life with many rich and rewarding experiences and many fond memories, he decided to pursue his art fulltime in 2020.

Since making the transition to full-time artist, Raphael has painted in several studios across Los Angeles, always refining his drip and splatter action painting technique. Marc's desire to create large abstracts and actively engage his whole body in the process is the perfect fit for someone who spent years competing at the highest levels in basketball. The dynamic interplay between body and creative energy is immensely satisfying for Marc, resulting in his stunning compositions. Here is what Raphael says about his work:

"As an action painter who paints in an abstract expressionist style, I am primarily interested in the process of making art. To begin a painting, I lay raw, unstretched canvas on the floor, and intuitively apply the first marks of acrylic paint on the canvas. What I love about raw canvas is how watered-down acrylic paint stains the cotton fibers, providing a smoothly textured background. By consciously attending to formal elements, especially color, line, and texture, and allowing intuition to freely assert itself, the painting soon comes to life and presents a direction. This balance between control and spontaneity also reminds me of improvisational jazz, and that is why I refer to my paintings as 'jazz-like improvisations on canvas.'"

Art has always been a great love of mine from an early age. It was the only constant in my life that has given me confidence and security aside from being a parent. I graduated with an Art degree, concentrating in Drawing one year into the 2008 recession and found myself working in the financial services industry shortly after graduation. Art had transitioned to my creative escape where friends and family urged me to open an Etsy shop or find a way to sell my artwork. I have always used my home as my outlet to experiment and fine tune my design skills until I ventured into architectural sales. This gradually led me to develop a business dedicated to elevating the traditional home style with less stress on the home owner. In my study of decorative arts, I realized the art world and the design world play in the same atmosphere and mirror each other in many ways. I created Reed Art & Home as a way to incorporate the love I have for art with the interest I have for the principals of design-understanding the many parallels art & design have with one another.

My specialization in artwork ranges in style as well as multiple disciplines, however my core focus centers around abstract painting, mixed media painting and the decorative arts. My artwork is the result of many unique methods developed over time, layered with forms of learned art principals. I work with a variety of materials and use my personal aesthetic and emotions to guide a piece. I believe anything can be used as a canvas to create a highly personalized and visually engaging space.

I spend most days parenting, decorating and creating with my family in Evanston, IL.

Born in Macenta, in the Forest Region of the Republic of Guinea in West Africa, Abdoulaye Conde is a visual artist, muralist, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. Abdoulaye's love of art and design began in childhood as he spent all his time reimagining any blank space into a unique design. Abdoulaye does not have any formal art education; his talents are undoubtedly a self-nurtured gift.

Abdoulaye's career grew exponentially over the years, after he moved to the capital city of Guinea at 16 years old, as he developed a unique personal style of art called "Gnabassan" [n-ya-bah-san]. Gnabassan is a concept that comes from Malinke, the West African language Abdoulaye grew up speaking, which means all mixed up. Abdoulaye sees Gnabassan as a representation of same and different - inspired by his experiences of diversity within Guinean and other cultures he was exposed to. His recognizable style can now be seen decorating many corners of Conkary, including murals and purchased originals at restaurants, embassies, schools, and cultural centers - most notably his work is seen in the courtyard of the German Embassy, as he won a competition to decorate an honored statue to represent the relationship between Guinea and Germany.

Abdoulaye never lost the determination to succeed using his gifts, and his dedication to creating beautiful and inspirational works of art and music for individuals of all walks of life to enjoy. Because of his inability to find willing mentors during his career, Abdoulaye gave the gift of mentorship to numerous young artists in Guinea in art and music - encouraging them to cultivate unique identities in their creative works, bringing them along on projects for experience, connecting them to employment opportunities, and teaching them life skills. An accomplishment of one of his mentees is having artwork in the home of the President of the Republic of Guinea.
