Hayley Youngs creates lavishly colorful paintings, alluding to a realm beyond the physical world, both philosophically and spiritually. Employing a visual language of esoteric shapes and curvilinear motifs, she navigates a mystical pictorial space, governed by symmetry, color, and intuitive precision.

About the Artist:

Hayley Youngs is a painter living and working in Brooklyn, NY. She is also the founder and teacher of Tumbleweeds Art Group, a neighborhood art program for Children and teens. Hayley holds a BFA from Pratt Institute and her art has been included in group shows at the Hollis Taggart Gallery, Wassaic Project, Lorin Gallery LA , IRL Gallery, Proto Gomez Gallery, Paradice Palase, Satellite Art Show, Showfields curated by Maria Vogel and more! Youngs had her first solo show at the Mark Borghi Gallery of the Hamptons in the summer of 2022. Youngs was chosen and attended the Summer 2022 artist residency at Château d'Orquevaux in France.

Scale is fundamental to the piece's impact physically as well as conceptually.This portrait is from a Velasquez portrait that Edouard Manet saw in the early 1850's which inspired him to make a series of works that directly impacted the Impressionist painters of his time. This was a pivotal painting that led Modernism into the 20th century - still in conversation with artists today. The work speaks to the monumental within the miniature.

About the Artist:

Living and working in Brooklyn for the past 25 years, James Sheehan has had solo shows in New York City, Zurich, Montreal, and Cologne. He has participated in numerous museum and gallery exhibitions in Tokyo, Munich, San Francisco, New York, and Moscow and received grants and awards including NYFA, ARCUS studio residency in Japan, LMCC World Trade Center studio residency, Pollock-Krasner, and the Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation Studio residency.

About the Artist:

Bernardo Zavattini was born and raised in Geneva Switzerland. He was an exhibiting artist (Paintings and Light Installations) in Switzerland and Los Angeles from 1983 -1993. He has since been involved in architecture, exhibition design and lighting design. He has been involved in numerous international art exhibitions including the current show at the Cisternerne in Copenhagen in collaboration with Kimsooja. He is currently working on new paintings and various light objects.
