This sculpture entitled, "The Dance", represents the strength, beauty, and perseverance of my dear friend, August Beddingfield. August was diagnosed with Myoepithelioma in 2003. These past few months I have been lucky enough to spend time with her and listen to stories of her past and of beating cancer. The metal bands represent her strength, while the swirling movement communicates the dancer, the radiant energy and consistent moving-forward outlook that August exhibits so gracefully. I am honored to have been paired up with such an inspiring and beautiful person and grateful for the friendship that has grown.
