It's not Kansas! It's New York City! This package includes gift cards for hotel accommodations, tickets for Wicked the musical that tells the story of Oz's two witches, and dining at Tao, as well as a private tour of the Metropolitan Museum led by David Pullins, Ph.D. '89, exhibition curator and co-author of Juan De Pareja: Afro-Hispanic Painter in the Age of Velazquez.
Use your $500 Marriott gift cards toward the cost of a Manhattan Marriott Hotel of your choice and your $300 Ticketmaster gift card to purchase tickets to Wicked. (If you've already seen Wicked, use your gift card for tickets to a show you haven't seen.) Your $100 Tao gift card will introduce you to a popular Tao restaurant and its diverse Asian-inspired menu.
This is twentieth anniversary year of Wicked which is now Broadway's fourth-longest running musical. With lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, Wicked received 3 Tony Awards, 7 Drama Desk Awards and a Grammy. Its plot focuses on the evolving relationship between Oz's Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) and Glinda the Good Witch.
Your private tour of The Metropolitan Museum will be hosted by alumnus David Pullins '97 Ph.D., the museum's curator responsible for seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Italian, Spanish and French painting. David will work with you to craft a visit suited to your interests and based on what works and exhibitions are on view. The tour is based on a mutually agreeable date--so plan ahead, and don't forget to take your copy of Dr. Pullins' book with you for him to sign.
Generously donated by David Pullins, Ph.D., '89, Ridgewood School Association Board of Trustees, and our New York Alumni--Elizabeth Varghese '89, Varun Devatha '11, David Fish '06, Rehan Syed '11, and Anonymous.
