Daily hikes in the woods inspire Anita to paint. Her Celtic soul seeks to find the magical element in nature, whether it is in trees, flowers, waterways or twisting vines She hopes to transfer this sense of beauty to her audience.

Anita grew up at the southern New Jersey shore between the pine barrens and the salt marsh. She moved to York County, Pennsylvania, 35 years ago.

Anita earned her Bachelors in Art Education at Millersville University. She taught Art to high school and elementary students at the Spring Grove Area School District for 15 years. While teaching, she went on to earn an M.S. in Education from Wilkes University and an MFA in Visual Arts from Wilson College. She decided to retire from teaching in June 2019 to pursue her art. She has been working as a full-time artist ever since.

Anita exhibits her art at local and regional juried exhibits. She won two major awards in 2020. Despite the limitations of Covid-19 restricting most artists to online exhibitions, she won Best of Show at the Yorkfest Adult Juried Exhibition and an Award of Excellence for the Art of Healing at Manhattan Arts International.

Although she retired from teaching at the public schools, Anita still loves to teach. She has been teaching Painting classes at the York Art Association and Adams County Council of the adults to adults since January of 2020. She also taught an online Art Appreciation class at Wilson College over the summer.

Carol Oldenburg's award winning paintings have been included in curated and juried exhibits in galleries and museums across the country at such places as Sue Greenwood Fine Art in Laguna Beach, CA; Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts; Carla Massoni Gallery, Chestertown, MD and The State Museum of Pennsylvania.

She is a participant in the "Art in the Embassies" program having displayed work at the American Embassy, Togo, Africa and as an invited guest at the White House for the 40th Anniversary of the program.

Her work has been featured in numerous publications including Artist's Homes and Studios, 100 Artists of the MidAtlantic and issue #33 of New American Paintings.

Her paintings can be found in the permanent collections of The State Museum of Pennsylvania, The Harley Davidson Motor Company, Glatfelter Insurance Group, Wellspan and Penn State University among others.

Carol currently lives in York, PA where she has established OMG STUDIOS along with her daughter, Kara Oldenburg-Gonzales, in the Royal Square District of downtown York.

Jeannine Dabb is an artist residing in York, PA. She returned to college to study painting after 22 years owning a small business in the medical aesthetics industry as an aesthetician and barber. She volunteered nationally in this field, serving eight years as a board member of the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists, and one year as President. She graduated in December 2020, from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art, with a specialty in painting and drawing and a minor in Art History.

In 2019 three of her artworks were accepted into the York Art Association Forty-Ninth Annual Juried Exhibition. In February 2020 she won an Award of Distinction in Emerging Visions, at Creative York, York, PA and five of her works were accepted into the 2020 Annual Juried Student Exhibition at York College Galleries, York College of Pennsylvania, York, PA (Jurors: Susan Scofield and Jeremy Friend). Out of the five works she received a Second Place Award and an Honorable mention.

She has her first solo show in July 2020 at the Grotto in Downtown York, Pa. and work was accepted into York Fest Juried show at Creative York. She had her second solo show on the 3rd Floor of Marketview Arts in January 2021 "Underneath It All". Molly's Courtyard Cafe in York, PA, is going to be the host of the third solo show in April 2022, "A LIL Bit of Country".

Currently she is working on a commissioned painting that will be installed in the Surgical Waiting Room at Penn State Health Hampden Hospital. Penn State Hospital has also have purchased 8 images of her work for prints for the hospitals hallways and waiting rooms.

Kayode Malomo is an multimedia and multi-talented Artist based in York, Pennsylvania, USA. He is the CEO/Creative Director of Malomsyart Collection.

Kayode weaves themes that oscillate around a game play of light and shadow, expressing strong versatility in oil, airbrushing, collage and mixed media. Bright colors painstakingly weave together in Malomo's "light into life" themes. His paintings often feature themes that depict happiness, hope, beauty and the importance of education.

Malomo has been commissioned to paint for dignitaries such as the President of Nigeria, Sierra-Leone, Mali and Philadelphia's Mayor to name a few. He has also been featured in several National and International dailies and was recognized by the Philadelphia Museum of Art during its "African Art, African Voices" Art exhibit in a feature film titled "In their own voices", an interwoven portrait of four African artists in Pennsylvania.

As a York resident, Malomo has exhibited at the Creative York Gallery in York every year since 2018, the Prince George's African American Museum of Art, MD and the African American Museum of Art in Philadelphia.

Malomo's painting titled "Security" graced the cover of the 2017 January edition of the Journal of African Literature, a global professional society of diaspora scholars, teachers, artists, artistes and creative writers from over 55 countries.

A graduate of Temple University, Kayode has served a volunteer for the Salem Square Library and Salem Foundation in York .

One of Malomo's favorite places to visit in York is the Rail Trail. His painting "Education is Key" which he donated is displayed in the Salem Library to inspire students about the importance of hard work and education.

MalomsyArt has a presence in galleries and other creative outlets in the US, UK and Africa. He has completed over 150 artworks.

Amber Wiesberg is an artist, as well as the Director of Education at Creative York, living in York, PA. As a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania's Fine Art Program, Wiesberg has developed her style of creating joyful works exploring the relationships between space, texture and shape. Wiesberg primarily works in acrylic, but enjoys experimenting with other mediums such as embroidery, fabric, and cardboard sculpture. Her work pushes the boundaries of clashing patterns and spatial planes. Her work continues to evolve as she discovers new patterns and color combinations.

Wiesberg has exhibited in local galleries and college buildings since 2017 as well as received awards for her artistic achievement. Under the judgement of Juror Stephen Towns, Wiesberg received third place for Fine Art in the 2019 York College Student Juried Exhibition. She also spent eleven months residing as the Louis Appell Fellow at Marketview Arts in York, PA.

An artist with a focus on abstract art including land and seascapes, Patricia is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. She is a member of Creative York and The York Art Association, both in York PA and the Harrisburg Art Association, Harrisburg PA. She is a resident artist at the Garth Gallery, Columbia PA. She has shown and sold her work in all locations.

Always drawing from the power of nature, her vision of depth and space is brought to the forefront in her work. Patricia works in mixed media on cradleboard and paper using acrylic paint, collage, oil pastel, oil sticks and vine charcoal along with sanding and distressing.

She is a recipient of the Rottler Award of Excellence 2021 Annual Juried Show at the York Art Association, York PA. She also received the Award of Excellence at the 50th Annual Open Juried Exhibition, York Art Association. In 2021 Patricia completed a series of four seascape paintings that are now a part of the permanent collection at the Wellspan York Campus Cancer Center, York PA.

Southern Pennsylvania based artist Michael W. Dugger has been exploring his narrative in painting through the intentional manipulation of surface by meticulously layering and mechanically removing layers to reveal his surfaces. Michael, 43 years old, creates his work out of his studio in York, PA.

Michael and his fellow artist/wife, Lucinda, reside in York and are raising their 4 children there and are also teaching them to explore their own creativity through the arts. Being a former DC resident for over 10 years prior to moving to York, Michael now finds the Pennsylvania culture and bucolic landscape the perfect respite to create his work. Currently, Michael commutes back to the DC area for work as a firefighter and paramedic. His professional work literally bleeds into his paintings in the form of subject matter and tension. Michael has cut his teeth professionally in DC as first a Chef and then moving into the world of firefighting.

Most of Michael's current work takes shape in the form of "reduction paintings" a technique that is used to form images through the idea of removing the layers of paint to reveal a narrative. Michael begins his work by creating the layers needed to build a narrative based on the work series he is engrossed in. He then starts by scraping, sanding, and removing, resulting in the final images that, through the many layers, tell a story. The end goal of this process is like seeing a lone billboard in decay, multiple torn layers, and ghost like remnants. It tells a story. It shows a beauty.

Michael was trained formally at Interlochen Arts Academy and Western Michigan University, where he obtained a BFA in Oil Painting. Michael has had many recent group and solo exhibitions in York and has also shown in galleries across the United States as well as group and solo exhibitions in Berlin, Germany. Michael has located his studio between NYC and DC which provides the creative space to create, but still be close enough to engage the arts community in the DMV.

Chris Gold, from York, PA, started painting later in life. Her informal art education was gained by taking regional professionals' workshops and classes. Gold's creative journey began when her daughter brought home a coffee mug from her school's ceramics class in 1999. The pair decided to take private lessons together and Chris discovered the joy of creating functional pieces from a lump of clay. After 15 years of occasional frustrating unfixable failures coming from her kiln, Chris wanted a new medium for her creative outlet. Gold had memories of watching, with fascination, her father paint with colorful, creamy oil paints. Assuming she had not inherited his DNA art gene, she did not pick up a brush until 2013, when in her mid-50's. Oils are now Chris's chosen medium. They allow flexibility to change a work, bringing her aesthetic to completion. Painting has become a better vehicle to express her appreciation of the strength God gives and Nature's abundant beauty.

Gold classifies herself as a representational painter, leaning into Impressionism. Now a retired women's health nurse practitioner, she has more time to devote to the canvas. This artist's creations can be seen in area galleries, as well as online social media. Her first oil painting exhibition prize was awarded in 2015. In 2022 her art was awarded best of show in a regional exhibit. Her creations have been accepted into juried exhibits through the York Art Association and shows at the York Jewish Community Center, along with other area venues. Gold is a member of Creative York and is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America. She also serves as the Gallery committee's chairperson and is a member of the Board of Directors for the York Art Association.

Rob Evans' paintings and drawings have been exhibited in museums around the globe and can be found in dozens of prominent public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art and Library of Congress. His work has been featured in numerous national publications and on PBS television, NPR radio and the Huffington Post.

As an independent curator Evans organized "Visions of the Susquehanna" a touring museum exhibition featuring Susquehanna themed masterworks and was invited to help curate a historical survey of prominent Pennsylvania artists at the State Museum for Governor Wolf's Inaugural Festivities in 2015.

He has served on the board of Creative York (formerly YorkArts) and also helped found Marketview Arts in downtown York.

"Until The Rain" is inspired by a scene from mile 9 of the York County Heritage Rail Trail. I've biked through that area many times and have experienced all sorts of weather conditions. Memories of an impending evening storm inspired this expressive painting.

Brett is a graduate of the York Academy of Arts and works in his art services business, Brett Greiman Design. His services include illustration, graphic design, murals, paintings and art instruction. Brett also is a Pennsylvania Arts in Education artist in residence and is well known for his patient and empathetic approach to teaching art.

In 2004, Kimberly Camp, Yorkfest juror and CEO of the Barnes Foundation, world's largest private collection of impressionist art, chose his painting "Tornado Warning" for the Best of Show award and he was the featured artist for 2006
YorkFest.

In 2011, three of Brett's large-scale moveable murals titled "Civil Rights Heroes, Barrier Breakers" were installed into the permanent collection of the York County History Center.

In 2017, Jim McClure, editor of York Sunday News, listed Brett as "a York artist who history will remember".

He has many works in both corporate and private collections including Wellspan Health, Harley Davidson, Nixon Nature Center, and many others. He has also illustrated and created the cover designs for several books by York area authors. Brett is a life-long York countian and lives in York Township, PA with wife Nina and daughter Bretina.

Karen Fornadel, M.Ed. has been working as an art teacher and artist for twenty-five years.

Karen's portfolio of artwork focuses on drawings and paintings of landscapes and nature. Her work is influenced by the works of Eduoard Manet and Georgia O'Keeffe. She enjoys doing commissioned drawings and paintings of bridal bouquets. She is inspired by the beauty of nature and the joy of sharing art with her students and her family.

Karen's work was featured in an exhibit entitled Searching for Self at the YorkArts@CityArt Gallery in 2013. She received a Creative York Award in 2014 and participated MonsterDraw Fundraising Rallies at YorkArts in 2015. In 2016, she participated in York College's Faculty Biennial Exhibition and Creative York's CSA (Community Supported Art) program. I believe that we all experience the world in our own unique way. My paintings allow me to go on a journey and recapture experiences through different media. As I cross the bridge between thinking and feeling, I am able to enter a state of existence that revives the place, time, and all my five senses of that moment. I always go back to my reference pictures and sketches, but it is really what is in my heart that gets translated into each of my paintings.
As an immigrant Latino woman whose experience has been about relocating from a small town to a big city and then to a smaller city, I find my themes reflect cultural diversity, movement and growth. I find nature grounds me and helps me move forward in my art. My desire is to connect on a human level with the community. I envision myself growing as a painter and inspiring others to be free and to celebrate their own creativity and identity.

Gretchen Nevin is a mother and wife living in York, Pa. She began her photography journey while documenting her children's day to day life and as a means of preserving their childhood. As she grew in her craft, she fell in love with the details of people and uses light to add dramatic perspective to her images. Currently, she focuses on families, newborns and maternity but her heart remains drawn to creative shoots where she can work along side other artists.

In addition to photography, she also focuses on drawing, painting and print-making. Through the use of dramatic brush strokes and textured application, she aims to convey depth and contrast in her paintings. While drawing, she uses heavy lines and direction to dramatize lights and shadows.

Terri Yacovelli began her art journey at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design when it was located in historic Marietta. She holds an undergraduate degree from Millersville University, and a Masters of Liberal Arts degree from Western Maryland College. Her work has been included in solo and juried exhibits across the east coast in Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey and Maryland. Recent work has been featured in the International Encaustic Artists juried exhibition held at the San Luis-Obispo Museum of Art, California. An avid traveler and gardener, she resides in York Pennsylvania. An advocate for all things local, she makes her encaustic medium from beeswax that has been harvested in York County.

Like many artists, Thom Kulp has always engaged in some sort of creative endeavor. His journey began with crayons and pencils as a child and progressed to water colors, oils and acrylics later in life. Along the way there were other explorations and forays into collage, collagraphy, encaustic, block printing, and mandala drawing. Some of his latest pieces are venturing into the three dimensional realm, but have not as of yet become true sculptures. They are more akin to bas reliefs.

Thom studied painting and drawing at Harrisburg Area Community College with the colorist painter, Edith Socolow who influenced him in the realm of abstract art. Color as subject matter was a revelation to him and his current work is still highly influenced by this. After studying Experimental Mixed Media with Linda McCloskey for several years at the Art Association of Harrisburg, he took over that class and taught it for several years there as well as at the York Art Association in York, PA. In addition to studying with Linda, Thom has taken classed with Julie Yontz-Rupp, Phyllis Disher-Fredericks and Ron Schloyer. He has conducted various workshops in Experimental Mixed Media, Collagraphic Printing, Mandala Making, and Painting in the style of Jackson Pollock. Currently he teaches students in his home studio located in Linglestown, PA. He has participated in many local shows and won numerous awards for his art.

Joanna Tice is an aspiring Artist from York Pennsylvania, and a Graduate from Temple University's Tyler School of Art Class of 2015. She received a BFA in Painting and Drawing with a Minor in General Business Studies. She prefers to go by the name "Joey" and her art business on social media is named Only1joey Art to play into that name.

She has resided in her current studio space since August of 2019 located on the third floor of The Handsome Cab in downtown York. A studio space shared among 5 other working Artists. Today she is also a member of the York Art Association and strives to have her work displayed in art shows and events surrounding York.

She loves animals, peaceful nature, hiking, and traveling to new & old places, which is often depicted in her work. She grew up with a twin sister. The sibling rivalry and competitiveness is truly what pushed her to begin her journey as an Artist, but her love and enjoyment that painting brings her is what keeps her motivated to grow her Artist name and get her name recognized in the community.

Andi is located in south central Pennsylvania. Andi studied fine art/art history and graduated with a BFA from Frostburg State University.

Andi works with a variety of mediums, including acrylics, inks, and oils. She considers her art to be abstract. Her work exhibits an ethereal sense of warmth, light, and love but also elicits the sensitive chaos found in nature. Her paintings begin with a foundation comprised of multiple layers of color and a variety of textures. Building from that background she allows intuition to guide her. Defined shapes and forms present themselves organically as the piece progresses.

Dillon Samuelson is a painter and illustrator who currently lives and works in York City. He graduated from the Fine Art program at York College of Pennsylvania in 2014, and the following year was awarded the third annual Appell Arts Fellowship at Marketview Arts. He has also completed residencies with the Vermont Studio Center and Springboard for the Arts, and his work has been shown in exhibitions across the US. I'm a native New-Yorker and have always been interested in art. But as "life gets in the way", I was unable to pursue anything like this until I found myself alone in Phoenix, AZ about 15 years ago. After trying several mediums, I found my passion in ceramics; it was literally a life-saver! I've been back in PA for about 10 years and have a home workshop and some regular customers, custom work store on Etsy, and do some craft shows. I learn mostly from reading and videos and the occasional workshop. I'm always looking to try something new, many times nature themed. In ceramics the possibilities are limitless!

Amy Rieg is an award-winning photographer and encaustic artist who lives and works in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She lived most of her adult life in Colorado and when her husband lost his job of 19 years they moved to Pennsylvania to live with family and return to school where he attended HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College and graduated, with highest honors, in December 2018 with an AFA in Photography. Amy is fortunate enough to have become part of the lineage of photographers who have learned from the great masters. Her mentors Ronald Talbot and Garrick Dorsett had personal learning experiences with Sally Mann, Owen Butler, Minor White and Ansel Adams, who learned from the photographic pioneers, Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Steichen.

Being able to experiment and try different techniques in college allowed Amy to explore encaustic photography. Encaustic is a Greek word meaning "to heat or burn in" (enkaustikos). Heat is used throughout the process, from melting the beeswax and varnish to fusing the layers of wax. Encaustic consists of natural bee's wax and dammar resin (crystallized tree sap). Encaustic painting is an ancient technique, dating back to the Greeks, who used wax to caulk ship hulls. Perhaps the best known of all encaustic work are the Fayum funeral portraits painted in the 1st through 3rd centuries A.D. by Greek painters in Egypt.

Amy says, "Light surrounds us, and as a photographer I capture that light and interpret it in different ways, I love to be able to share that through traditional prints. But I was able to elevate my art to a new level when I found encaustic photography. Adding wax to an image can create a sense of mystery, romanticize the light, or produce excitement through the texture. My hope is to give my audience something they've never seen before and instill an appreciation of things that often go overlooked in addition to observing our world in a different way."

Elaina received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from The Pennsylvania College of Art And Design in 2009. While pursuing her bachelor's degree, Posey also interned at the Charles Demuth Foundation located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In 2010, she studied under Professor Robert Andriulli at Millersville University participating in the Emerging Artists in Residency Program. She received her Masters of Fine Arts at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pa in 2013. She is currently a member of the Cerulean Arts Artist Coop in Philadelphia and maintains a studio practice at home in Lancaster.

Her pieces have been exhibited in many galleries in Pennsylvania and the East Coast including Millersville University (Millersville, Pa.), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (Philadelphia, Pa.), Elizabethtown College and Cerulean Arts (Philadelphia, Pa.).

Recent Awards include an Academy Scholarship from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, an Honorable Mention in the 2017 F.A.M.E Show at PAFA (Philadelphia, Pa.), Best in Show in 2017 at the York Art Association's Juried Exhibition and Second Place at the 2017 Juried Exhibition at the Art Association of Harrisburg.

I see paintings everywhere I go. With pure pigment, I reinterpret local, everyday life. In our busy lives full of digital distraction, we can overlook the beauty of an interesting face, a group of people working, a landmark, the landscape outside our window or simply how light falls on an object. What might seem like another cursory pretty picture can gift the viewer with the opportunity to be present in the moment by revealing the joy of a shared experience.

My interest in art was encouraged by my family. Given a full scholarship to attend West Virginia University, I concentrated on functional pottery because it combined usefulness and beauty. The marks left behind by an artist inspired me. In museums, I look for how a piece displays an artist's individual hand in the line quality of their chosen media or even in a fingerprint.

Part of college included traveling Europe and studying in Lacoste, France at an art colony established by Bernard Pfriem. It was exciting to walk in the footsteps of famous artists. Viewing masterpieces first hand that previously I had only been exposed to in book format made an indelible impression.

After graduation I spent several stints teaching, drawing portraits and running a successful functional pottery business until my creative efforts were invested in staying home to raise a family. As my children become more independent, I am renewing my efforts to make art.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the beauty of the world around us, always trying to invite the viewer to enter and explore the view. My landscapes are generally of places I have visited, and I try to re-create the mood of the moment with color, light and shadows.
In these stressful times, I have found solace in nature in all seasons. On daily walks, I find the changing of the seasons a solid refuge from conflict. Spring always follows even the roughest winter, and summer's heat gives way to the coolness and colors of autumn.

I seek to find beauty in the ordinary things around us. I paint because I love to paint. So, there is no great social or philosophical message in my paintings; I just want to make the viewer feel good when they look at my art. If it has made you happy, I am happy!

Carol Robertson Little began painting in 2009, taking her first art class at York (PA) Art Association in the winter of 2010. Painting primarily in oils, she has been influenced by instructors Phyllis Disher Fredericks, Anita Williams, Susan Nicholas Gephart and Barbara Buchanan. While most of her work is realistic, she has executed some paintings in an impressionistic style. She paints both in York, PA, and Benson, VT.

She has won awards in York Art Association exhibits, and has been juried into exhibits there, as well as at Farm and Natural Lands Trust. Freedom Seekers at William Goodridge Freedom Center and Framers Workshop in York. She recently was featured in a solo exhibit in the Danyo Gallery of YAA.

She participates in Creative York exhibits, York Art Association exhibits, with the Gallery Group of YAA at various venues, and with the Orwell Artists group and the Stratford House Gallery in Orwell, Vermont.

Andrew Murphy is an accomplished designer, illustrator, inventor, sculptor and publisher. Born in 1967 in Illinois, his interest in art was developed from almost the get go. Whether with crayons or pencil, he is always ready to sketch and create. He graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art with a degree in design.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Whether planned or just by mere wondering, everyone walks a path. You start at one point and wake up at another. The question is "What was gained and gathered during this time?" Hopefully memories, experiences (good and bad), knowledge, emotion or a muddled combination make up the mix. Like a filing cabinet, my brain squirrels all these little gems and blips for later consumption and understanding?? Over time, maybe a day, a month, or even years later, my brain works away on these thoughts making connections whether literal or abstract. Eventually it comes down to a notion that has to be scribbled onto paper and visualized. Some thoughts come out the tip of my pencil like they were trapped there the whole time waiting to come life and my hand is just taking orders. While other thoughts start conjuring about as I draw. But sometimes, the planned thought gets hijacked and changed up and the new idea jumps the line and takes over. It now becomes the focus and that's ok. The planned idea will always be there for later visualization because it was already understood, but the unexpected may vanish so it's better to follow that stream of consciousness when it appears.

So what is the focus? It depends on the mood, the reason for expression and the means or media needed to do such. Sometimes, it's through painting, drawing or sculpture-or all three. No matter the media though, there is a sense of depth and dimension-and that is my fingerprint whether planned or not. It's just how my mind thinks.

I was born and raised in northern New Jersey, in a melting pot of mixed cultures, just a train or bus ride from NYC. In my first year of high school my family moved to good ole' West Virginia, where I lived out three years of my high school life. Spent my senior year in Baltimore County Maryland, just a quick drive into Baltimore. After graduating High School I attended The Art
Institute of Philadelphia. Now I'm happily living and painting in York County Pennsylvania with my spectacular son and amazing wife. Where we're living, The Susquehanna River has become one of the most influential forces of nature I draw inspiration from.

Felicity Sidwell lives in an old farmhouse in Gettysburg, PA. She paints in an impressionistic style in oil and most recently has developed a passion for the immediacy of pastels, often using watercolor as an under paintings. She loves to capture the colors and patterns of old, weathered Pennsylvania barns, the seasonal changing hues of foliage, the interweaving of colors in creeks, fields and hedgerows and the delicacy of the colors of a stand of bare winter trees after rain. It is a landscape happily reminiscent of the Hertfordshire village in England where she grew up and first learned to love the nuances of a gentle rural landscape.

Felicity and her husband came to the US in the early 1970s. Settling first in Connecticut where she attended Silvermine School of Art. There her main course of study was in realistic oil painting at a time when abstraction was often considered the only meaningful art form.

While in Connecticut, Felicity exhibited in a number of group and solo shows, winning an occasional prizes for her watercolors.

By the summer of 2000 she was doing weekly outdoor shows in Eastham on Cape Cod with the Eastham Painters Guild.

She later moved to Maine for ten years working mainly in oils. Here her Plein Air painting developed while working with the Plein Air Painters of Maine and a group of friends who painted together at different locations every Thursday. This was her marine painting period, small fishing harbors, sandy beaches, rocky shores and the brilliant yellows and golds of tidal salt marshes in autumn.

While in Maine Felicity ran her own successful art gallery in a summer cottage perched on the rocks overlooking Casco Bay and a little fishing harbor in Phippsburg, ME.

Felicity is a member of the American Impressionist Society The Susquehanna Plein Air Painters, The Mountain Valley Plein Air Painters and the Plein Air Painters of the Hanover Arts Guild.

After nearly 20 years, Kelly Nevin has recently relocated back to her hometown of York, PA and shows her work both in Southcentral and Southeastern PA. Following college graduation, Kelly worked briefly as a photographer, then moved to Seattle WA, where she worked for several art galleries, as well as in advertising. She continued her advertising career in the Philadelphia region before pursuing another passion of hers, Art History. While obtaining her MA, she became immersed in the Wyeth's work and family history, spending a year with the Brandywine Museum of Art.

Kelly has recently focused on raising two young children, while continuing her volunteer work in the arts and education. Now that her children are in school, she has found more time to pick up her brushes again, and over the past few years has participated locally in exhibitions with Creative York, York Art Association, Hive Artspace, and held a solo show in October 2021 at The Grotto. More recently, Kelly has started to show her work again in the Philadelphia area, while also remaining busy with commissions. She works primarily in oils, and often enjoys bringing in other mediums such as cold wax and her photographs as a paper base. Kelly takes an expressive approach with color and texture, seeking to tell dramatic stories of both awe-inspiring landscapes, as well as scenes from "the everyday" which are often overlooked.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I finished "Forsythia First" a few weeks ago, during that dreary time in February when we become desperate for springtime, knowing it's just within reach. Since living in my childhood home, I remember Forsythia being one of the first real signs that the seasons are about to turn. Using an oil, cold wax and paper combination I sought to create a textured tribute to the yellow burst of color that is just around the corner. Not immediately obvious is a willowy female figure sitting in the bottom right corner, ready to be enveloped by the blooms.

Lucy is a New York raised Puerto Rican Mixed Media Artist based in Pennsylvania.

Through her sculpture and paintings, Lucy tells stories of the human experience, of the grit humans find to move forward in life despite adversity or tragedy. She strives to deliver a poignant reflection on the resiliency in people. Art allows her to express visually what is in her mind, her heart, what she observes in people when she travels. The significance of her Puerto Rican identity in the diaspora is highly visible in her work.

Through Mixed Media Art, Lucy explores objects and language, from daily modern life to ancient indigenous customs and that live on today like the use of "ditas" (traditional bowl). Symbols diffused in her paintings and sculptures celebrate and honor a resilient heritage.

Lucy studied Studio Art in City University of New York, worked as an Art Instructor in the Bronx and obtained a B.S. in Applied Behavioral Science from Penn State Harrisburg.

While raising her children Lucy pursued her degree in Pennsylvania and worked in mental health as a Therapeutic Staff Support for children with Autism and behavioral disorders.

Lucy's journey has taken her to Supply Chain Management and Mixed Media Artist in prize winning Sculpture and Paintings.

Lucy made the Harrisburg and York area her home where she and her husband David, raised their four children who also dabble in the Visual Arts. For the 33 years Lucy has volunteered in mission trips to Central America and the Caribbean where she incorporates art activities for children.

Bronwyn Kenna is a York-based artist originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia.

She graduated from West Chester University with her bachelors in Elementary Education.

Although she has no formal post-secondary art training, she attributes her knowledge of art to her high school art classes. Bronwyn was a 2002 graduate of North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA.

I was always a prolific dreamer and growing up in a coal town, the ways in which I was able to embrace and interest the "creative side" in me, was through the movies and the small random exhibitions placed in odd places and at odd times. My first memories of art was as a child while waiting in line at the local cafeteria. They would hold exhibits which would cascade up the walls to the food. I stood in awe of these creations and felt whoever did these held some secret power that I wanted a part. The colors, lines, and forms twisted in my mind tendering me an explosion of imaginative potential.

It wasn't much later that I went into a local stationary store where my grandmother, keenly aware of this interest, bought me Japanese oil pastels in a wooden box- the beginning of a long love affair with the arts.

My art is a reflection of my lifetime trials and tribulations. Reality as a theme is compromised to the surreal and whimsical, horror is wed with humor and color, all of which highlights the instability of emotion.

The majority of work comes from my mind and dreams/nightmares. Some of my work was influenced by the travel that I have experienced.

Amanda is the proud owner of The Prancing Pig, Paint Your Own Pottery in York. She spends most of her days there, helping to bring out the inner artist in her customers.

She has a BS in Environmental Science from Rollins College and has worked as an Environmental Educator both in the private sector as well as for the National Park Service as a Park Ranger. But art was always her first love. After 15 years in Colorado, she moved back to the York area, and found her true passion, helping people create. This was also her first introduction to Fused Glass, and she was hooked. She now teaches at The Prancing Pig doing Kids Nights, Story Times as well as glass and painting classes.

Douglas Kaye Spangler is a lifelong resident and an 11th generation descendant of York County, PA. Having a degree in English Literature and a passion for poetry, he spent 20+ years in Food Service, 5+ years in the Audio-Visual field, only to discover a love for pottery later in life. When his wife purchased The Prancing Pig, he dove into the glazing and firing aspect, learning as much about the back room process as possible. Having recently acquired a throwing wheel and delving into microgreens, the artist believes that it is never too late to start a new career, especially if you love it.

Hollie Johns was born in York, PA in 1976, when the town was still fairly rural. Her passion for nature and animals was instilled early on, and growing up she expressed this passion through art. She went on to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art where she gained a BFA in general fine arts, with a focus on photography and illustration. Following art school, her plans to be a children's book illustrator shifted when she was offered an opportunity to take over an art gallery with over 100 artists from her high school art teacher. Hollie had never painted, other than her foundation oil class in college, but she picked up a brush and some inexpensive craft store acrylics and has been painting ever since.

Frequent outings into nature, and long hours in her personal backyard garden, fuel inspiration for new work. "Nature has always provided me with a sort of spiritual wholeness in life. It is always there for me, and the knowledge I gain from quiet observation of my natural surroundings makes me notice the little things that most people would just pass by. I'm always looking at the ground when I am out walking, to see the bugs, the plants, the animal tracks, and the discarded remnants of others. This is where my ideas form and create little stories in my head as I walk."

Her work explores the dialogue between humans and the earth and presents it in an intimate way. It exudes an honesty that speaks to her sensitivity towards expressing the relationship between the man-made and the natural world. Within her technique, which is mostly self-taught, she makes changes based on her own whims, and the physicality of the paint. While her art holds private undertones based on observation and personal memories, they are presented to the viewers as avenues which they can interpret in their own way.

Hollie has run several art galleries in York, Baltimore, and Lancaster, but currently lives back in her hometown with her husband Eric and lots and lots of animals. She is a nurse by day and works mainly on commissioned pieces at this point in her life.

Christine Kirk creates paper sculptures she calls "Paper Meditations" in her home studio in suburban Pennsylvania. Her unique art form began more than twenty years ago as a way to decorate her home. Since then, her hobby has led to exhibiting her pieces in many venues including art fairs, galleries and gift shops. Recently her artworks received awards from the Lancaster County Art Association and Christine earned the prestigious status of Master Artisan from the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.

Christine has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Design with honors from Parsons School of Design. She enjoyed a career as a graphic designer in the New York metropolitan area before starting a family and developing her passion for paper art. Now retired, she devotes much of her time to creating Paper Meditations.

Susan has been involved in art throughout her life, whether drawing, painting, working in clay or teaching and counseling through art. Her formal training includes a dual Bachelors degree in fine arts and psychology with art therapy concentration and Masters degree in education, with continued studies in landscape painting, illustration, and design. She is inspired by nature, particularly the colors and shapes in the landscape and the emotional response to the environment. Therefore, she often paints en plein air, striving to portray the "feel of the day", sifting through the layers of natural color and the play of light. Susan enjoys and sees benefit in engaging in a variety of media, but has mainly been working in oil. In the studio, she frequently uses plein air, pen, ink, watercolor or colored pencil sketches to create larger oil paintings. Her studio work also includes still life, human and animal portraiture. Susan has studied landscape painting abroad, including Italy and Ireland, and painted across the USA, gaining inspiration from her travels. She has exhibited in Pennsylvania, New York City and the US east coast in many juried shows and has won awards regionally, including two Best of Show awards, awards for Plein air/Impressionism and for her works in clay. She recently added book illustration to her art endeavors, for the childrens' book, "Goodbye Yellow House". Her work is in private and corporate collections. Through her work, she hopes to share a blend of appreciation for the natural world and the wonder of the human spirit.

I've been compelled to create art since I was a young girl (I was even banned from looking at the newspaper before my Dad because I doodled all over it). Pencil, pen and ink, and watercolor were what I used most when I first began creating. Having lived all over and with frequent travel, I was exposed to many different areas of the country and so my mind grew. I knew I was an artist--until I was blindsided by a young college professor who told me that my natural ability was "too stylized and will never sell." At that time I lacked the self-belief to push back and I began the journey I needed to take to get to where I am today. If I'm not creating art, I'm not happy, I'm not settled, and I fill with angst. I need to create in order to process what is happening in my life. And so I DO, drawing, photographing, painting, mixing media and techniques to respond to the world around me, reflect what I see and imagine, and to express what I am feeling.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I'm always asking myself, "What if?" My ideas are provoked by what I'm seeing, what I'm hearing, and how I'm feeling. Many of my visual cues come from forms in nature or moments created when light intersects with dimension. Figures or faces often appear in my work because I find people quite fascinating. My most personal work happens when I examine and translate human experience into art. My tenacious curiosity, tireless observation, and drive to express myself artistically mean that I'm always painting in my head. I look at things and see how I would paint it. Often when I start a painting, it turns out to be something completely different. My intended work is often reshaped by the experience I'm having while creating the piece--sometimes with the materials themselves or with evolving concepts. I'm curious about the work I continue to do and am excited about where it will take me.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Color is everything! I love how the palette of a painting sets the mood for the narrative within. Creating my paintings using many layers of vivid colors, collage elements, mark-making tools and whole body movements is a joyful experience for me, and I like to think that the viewer feels that joy when observing my work. I keep this quote by Mark Rothko always in mind: "A painting is not a picture of an experience, it IS an experience."
When painting with an attitude of playfulness, I find myself less concerned with the rules of art-making and more connected to my own essence. I easily become smitten with the lusciousness of a color, the curve of a line or the impact of patterns on the canvas. Working intuitively, I respond to the last brushstroke with the next one, building of layers of colors, marks and washes that provide depth for the final piece. I have no preconceived notion of how piece may turn out; each painting follows its own path to completion.

These elements of wonder and surprise keep me coming back to the studio each day - and sometimes I feel as if I am just hanging on to the brush for the ride!

Although Peg Belcastro was born and raised in south-central Pennsylvania, living in Alaska from 2002 to 2012 deeply influenced the way she approaches her art. It was in those extraordinary surroundings that she discovered the significance of letting go and getting out of her own way that is so vital for tapping into the creative flow. "The people who live in Alaska have a particular way of thinking which is essential for surviving in the far north. It's the attitude of courage to be true to yourself, to honor your passions and to live life to the fullest - no matter what anyone else thinks," she says.

Peg knew as a young girl that she would follow a path in the arts, and she sold her first painting at age fifteen. Later, she studied ceramics at Bloomsburg University and enjoyed creating pottery and sculpture for a number of years. But it was during her time in Alaska that she once again returned to her love of color and painting.

Bold brushstrokes, exuberant colors and fresh mark-making became the hallmarks of her pieces. After retiring early from a career in real estate which included designing and building homes, she now dedicates her time to artistic exploration in her painting studio.

Over the last twenty-one years she has participated in juried shows as well as solo, group and invitational exhibitions in Pennsylvania, Alaska, Virginia, New Jersey, Michigan and Vermont.

Peg is also a Reiki Master and a musician who plays the African marimba in an all-woman band, Mazimba.

Inspired by her artist father, Suzanne's love of painting began early. An emphasis on fine art and art history in college followed by study under professional artists throughout life has helped her refine her skills. Figures and portraiture are her favorites but she also loves to paint animals or still life.

A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, Richard Chandler Hoff is a nationally recognized artist working exclusively in graphite pencil on paper. Hoff illustrates life in America during the 1940s relying on extensive research to accurately depict that decade.

At the age of twenty-eight Hoff's work was reviewed in the French arts magazine La Revue Moderne. In 1987 Richard was awarded Second Place in the American Artist Magazine Golden Anniversary Traveling Exhibition. Only 68 artists were chosen from 13,000 entries. Hoff's work has been included in the prestigious Pennsylvania Art of the State competition for eight years and he is represented in public, corporate and private collections including the Butler Institute of American Art and MBNA Bank (now Bank of America). In 2015 he was awarded Master Pencil Artist (signature) Status by the Pencil Arts Society of Canada. He is a winner of the Williams Prize in Drawing (Juror's Choice Award) for 2016.

Hoff's drawings have been featured in American Artist Magazine and the premier issue of Drawing Magazine.
Richard currently resides in Felton, Pennsylvania with his wife Joanne and Ginger, the Studio Cat.

Jane Wolfgang considers herself to be a life-long creative, and has always had an interest in art. Born and raised in York, she received her BS in Arts Education from Kutztown University and her Masters in Education from Wilkes University. She has taught public school art for over 25 years in various states and has just recently moved back to York, where she has continued her artistic passions of mixed media and painting. Jane has exhibited her work in both solo and group shows in North Carolina and locally. In addition, Jane has written and illustrated two children's art books and has also illustrated another six children's books. Jane loves to teach and nothing fulfills her more than motivating children and adults by sharing her love of art with them.

Jodi Hoover is an artist and librarian working in Baltimore, Maryland. Her work explores storytelling as a (sometimes unreliable) way to explain the dangerous, beautiful world. Familiar and domestic designs, such as quilt patterns, bleed into fairy-tale landscapes created through the use of layered hand-cut collage work.

Hoover holds a Master of Fine Art degree from Towson University and a Master of Library Science from University of Maryland, College Park.

Largely self-taught, Donna received formal training at York Academy of Arts. She also holds a degree in Psychology from Albright College and is certified in several modalities in the Natural Health field. After operating a commercial studio early in her career she realized that her true love was painting, although she still pursues graphic design, especially typography.

Donna has exhibited in many places over the years and her work hangs in collections both in the U.S. and abroad. She is a recwnt recipient of York Art Association's Rottler Award of Excellence.

Donna has taught adult drawing and painting classes for over forty years, and most recently taught painting classes on Zoom for the Office of Aging's Virtual Senior Center. She worked many years facilitating therapeutic art classes for those with serious mental illness and advanced dementia. She has just retired from teaching and is currently focused on her own work.

Donna divides her time among her art, natural health interests and her family. She currently resides in what she likes to call her Hobbit House in Lancaster County.

Primarily a self-taught painter, I've been working in oil and acrylic on canvas for 30 years. My work has been shown and collected throughout the U.S. and Europe. I've worked in set painting for theater and opera, as a pastry chef, and graduated with an AA in Psychology along with music studies in voice and piano.

Evaluating and experimenting are the ways I continue to push my creative expression to new levels; I work to develop a painting style that is uniquely my own. Currently I'm exploring abstract painting that originates from allowing the image to emerge with as little conscious thought as possible, known as the flow state. These paintings are a story being told with the interaction between the movement of shapes and colors. Originality and self-expression are vital to my artwork in both abstract and figurative compositions. My figurative work is based on emotion, personal experience, friends, family, animals, and nature.

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time" [Fr. Louie Merton]. Using color and movement I immerse myself in the moment allowing my subconscious to create a figurative and expressionistic visual representation of my emotions. Joy, despair, conflict, anger, and bliss all find a place in my artwork.

Moog Bowlsbey is an artist from southern York County, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in 2012. Then she completed her Master of Fine Arts in photography from Indiana University Bloomington in 2017.

She is currently an adjunct professor of photography at York College of Pennsylvania. She also works as an adjunct professor and the photography department lab technician at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

She specializes in both analog and digital
photography, along with bookmaking and basic printmaking processes. Ashley's work is
emotionally driven, often focusing on topics of family, home, loss and personal struggles.

Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in locations such as Philadelphia PA, Washington DC, Pingyao China, Daegu South Korea, and London England.

ARTIST STATEMENT
The first time I picked up a sketchbook with a serious intention to create art was my freshman year of college. At this time, I felt an innate urge to express myself, which motivated me to concretely present my thoughts and feelings on paper in the form of visual art. As I continued to generate pieces, I found a recurring theme began to surface. This theme, the neurological state and exploration of human emotions existing from the human condition, consistently emerged in my work.

Throughout my art studies, I constantly experimented with new forms of media, but relied mostly on oils, acrylics, watercolor, ink, micron pens, collage, and digital photography. When stepping back to view my work, distinct organic lines are seen flowing in and around the larger portions of the shapes. In these pieces there are multiple layers that add to the bold abstract initiative patterning. This is accompanied by various color choices which represent the variety of the human condition. Although I often study humans in my work, I am more focused on portraying peoples' sentiments and mental states in my pieces than on the physicality of the figures themselves. I also draw heavy inspiration from intimate moments found throughout my daily life. With this perspective in mind, in these works I have attempted to visually display the neurological state of a person's being in hopes that others can connect with these pieces on a deeper level. Although I hope to make work that is aesthetically pleasing, that is not my principal focus.

My main focus is to create art where the viewer fastens their personal experiences to a piece in such a way that it creates a strong, unique, and individual connection with the work. We all see reflections of our experiences and make the artwork do our bidding to fit into these reflections. I hope my work can facilitate the viewer with the opportunity to create new perspectives within themselves.

Rebecca Carter is a graduate from York College of Pennsylvania, and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Fine Art. She has earned minors in Art History, Photography, Visual Communication, and Speech Communication. Her membership in the honor societies of Phi Theta Kappa and Delta Alpha Pi afforded her an opportunity to receive competitive awards such as the All-Maryland Academic Scholarship, as well as the Coca Cola Gold Scholar. In addition to this, she was inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honor Society.

Three of her mixed media pieces were selected into the distinguished Emerging Visions: Undergraduate Juried Show in 2019 at Creative York, York, PA. This series was awarded Best in Show in that exhibition. Rebecca had her work featured on the cover of The York Review (Vol. 26, 2020) and one of her paintings was selected to hang as a banner design in the WeCo District of downtown York, PA.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is largely process-driven. Hammering away at the stone with a chisel is aggressive and confrontational. Removing sharp edges, and imperfections, and releasing the stone of all that needs to be removed is a liberating and therapeutic experience.

Rasping the stone is my opportunity to begin to shape more intimately and with intention. During this stage curves, tears, holes, faces, or waves begin to reveal themselves. Sometimes the form and God-given color that emerges from this process are enough, while other times the object emerging from the stone holds a deeper meaning or speaks to something occurring in my life that suggests further development.

Once satisfied with the shape, I begin sanding the stone. After such an aggressive introduction to the stone, and spending weeks or months carefully rasping and acquainting myself to its shape, I find the sanding stage to be intimate and sensual. Smoothing over every chiseled line and rasp mark, with only sandpaper, is the first time I touch the stone without hard metal tools. With each higher grade of sandpaper and water, the stone becomes softer, smoother, and darker. This stage reveals the final form, which, whether figurative or non-representational, communicates a sensory experience of texture and movement to the viewer.

ARTIST BIO

Adrienne Brenner was born in York, Pa in 1973. Brenner works predominantly in alabaster; however, she has also worked with pastel and photography. Brenner earned an MS in Art Therapy with a specialization in Phototherapy from the College of New Rochelle, NY in 1998.

Brenner has exhibited her sculptures in the Senior Art Therapy Exhibition in the Castle Gallery at the College of New Rochelle, the Grand Opening of The Lofts on George Street in 2002 in the 2015 Rottler Award Selection Exhibit, and the Spring Members Show at the York Art Association where she was one of the professional winners. Brenner also exhibited with Matthew Clay-Robison in the Pennsylvania Art Experience Marketview Art's June 2015 show "Curves and Edges," the 2015 Yorkfest juried show, and won an Award of excellence in York Art Associations 2015 and again in the 2021 Juried art show. Brenner won an Award from Creative York in the York Water Company show and showed her work in the 2017 Show "Transitions" in Creative York. Most Brenner won an award of excellence in the 50-anniversary juried show at York Art Association in October 2021.

Brenner is served as a Board member and President of the Board of YorkArts now called Creative York. Brenner has accepted commissions and her work is in several private collections, including those of Karen and Dennis Strine, Rick & Carol Smith, Attorney Bill & Sanfra Anstine, Attorney Lawrence & Tina Young, Shannon and Richard Lopez, Jack & Yvonne Garner, Fred Rosenmiller, Scott & Ellen Hancock, Ed & Jamelle Magee, Bill & Kim Kerlin, Dot & Walt Rohrbaugh, Russ & Janie Mcknight, Joe & Sandy Brillhart, and Barbara and Phil Shepp.

I graduated from Millersville University with a BS in Art Education. I retired from the School District of the City of York after having taught Art for 30 years. I also served as Adjunct Professor at York College of Pennsylvania in the Art of Education Department for 11 years. Although my professional career has been in education, I have continued to pursue my love of art through the exploration of many techniques and mediums. I love to draw and have a sketchbook near me at all times. Most recently, I have been working in acrylic on vinyl (old record albums). I don't have any one subject that appeals to me. I see art everywhere. I have exhibited locally at York College, Creative York and The Hive Artspace. I live in Columbia with my husband Jeff and our fur babies Gunner and Gem.
