Rod Shelffo was born in 1966 in Belleville New Jersey. After living in Puerto Rico for 5 years, He spent most of his childhood in upstate New York until High School graduation at which time He joined the United States Marine Corps. During his tour, He completed boot camp in Paris Island, was on barracks duty at Guantanamo Bay Cuba and in 29 Palms he served as a military police officer. He married Lori in 1987 and their Daughter Staci was born on the base in 29 Palms in 1989. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, Rod and Lori decided that Redlands sounded much better than upstate New York. Within 2 weeks of leaving the military, Rod joined Hatfield Buick GMC and is currently the General Sales Manager and has been there for almost 34 years now. Rod has been very active in the Redlands community since moving here in 1989. He has served as a member of the Redlands Bike Classic organizing committee, a commissioner with the Redlands Parks and Recreation committee, A Board member for the University of Redlands Town & Gown as well as a board member for Redlands Family Services. He has served as President and is the current treasurer for the Redlands Optimist Club. Rod is also one of the organizers for the Redlands Optimist Club Oktoberfest and you can usually see him selling hot dogs and popcorn from the concession stand at the Redlands Bowl. Rod has received the Optimist of the year award as well as the Harold J. Pauls service to youth award and last year he was honored with the Redlands YMCA's Roy Coble service to youth award. Rod and Lori have been married for almost 35 years now and their Daughter Staci and Son in Law Aaron live in Redlands with their 2 children, Kimberlyn and Kaden. During his spare time, Rod likes to golf and spend time with his grandkids.
