Made from the younger vines of Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory, The Mascot shares a unique glimpse into the evolution of our winegrowing estates. The Mascot began early on as an experiment, after talking the family and winemaking team into sparing a few barrels of wine. An exotic perfume of hard spices - clove & licorice - create a pathway for deep waves of myrrh, sandalwood, and bold black fruit aromatics. The flavor profile follows with black fruit up front - Mission fig, currant, and wild blackberries - continuing to build in complexity with lavender, iron pan, gravel, and basalt. There is a focused structure with firm tannins and moderate acidity.

This patient approach allows for the integration of tannin, alcohol, acidity, and fruit. The result is a wine of incredible complexity and harmony, that is true to the place it comes from.
