Atrium Medical Center is proud to team up with Middletown City Schools and Middletown Division of Police to help keep students safe during a crisis.
The Middletown Division of Police and Atrium Medical Center are proactively taking steps to keep students safer and calmer in an emergency.
From severe weather to violence, the headlines remind us that it is better to be prepared for the unthinkable than regret not doing so after the fact.
Atrium Medical Center is assembling classroom emergency kits, five-gallon buckets filled with items and resources to help teachers and students who may be barricaded in a classroom for an extended time during a crisis.
These Barricade Buckets will be placed in school classrooms and will include items like toilet paper, hand sanitizer, snack bars, gauze, gloves, flashlights and band-aids.
Our goal is to provide a Barricade Bucket for every Middle School and High School classroom and shared space like the cafeteria, administrative offices or library - 168 buckets in total. If we meet this goal, we will expand the project to the elementary schools as well.
For a gift of $130, you can fully fund a Barricade Bucket for a classroom.
Gifts of any size are appreciated.
