  • 2000: Robert Parker 96 - "The spectacular 2000 Syrah Eddie's Patch (made from extremely low yields) is almost primordial/gothic in its dense, broodingly backward personality. However, it exhibits extraordinarily rich, concentrated, blackberry, blueberry, charcoal, and smoky characteristics. This full-throttle, superb expression of Syrah takes no prisoners, and is not meant for those who enjoy restrained, subtle wines." Note: this is the first year this wine was made.
  • 2001: Robert Parker 93 - "The 2001 Syrah Eddie's Patch (360 cases) is a blockbuster effort from this hillside vineyard. One-hundred percent destemmed, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it boasts a roasted meat, charcoal-infused, blackberry-scented nose with hints of violets in the background. Dense, full-bodied, and super-rich as well as gorgeously pure with chocolatey, herbal undertones…"
  • 2004: Robert Parker 93+ - "The 2004 Syrah Eddie's Patch (400 cases) shares an opaque purple color in addition to notes of incense, blackberries, truffles, and spicy wood. It is a huge, dense, cool climate Syrah with a Pinot Noir-like sassafras character…big, earthy, terroir-driven…"
