Please SAVE THE DATE for our 2024 Gala & 35th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, October 5th!

Our annual Gala is an opportunity to raise funds and have fun with our powerful CCL community!

For 2023, our Gala will be Saturday, September 23rd at 6pm at the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center located at 4048 W. Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60639.

We will be enjoying música en vivo from Los Pleneros de Don Segundo, an Afro-Puerto Rican band. Los Pleneros de Don Segundo combine traditional rhythms and instruments to create a unique sound in their Plena songs. As a result of their unwavering commitment to advancing the genre with original compositions and arrangements, they have become one of Chicago's most sought-after plena groups. Their music embodies the rich spirit of Puerto Rican culture. You can preview them above!

We will have a special performance by Black Girls Dance. Black Girls Dance works towards expanding the community for female dancers of color in performance opportunities, career guidance, and scholarship assistance to empower female dancers of color to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals.

Additionally, George "G-Spot" Jackson will be back with us sharing house music with his own style of turntable domination. Though based in Chicago, DJ G-Spot's dedication, style and business savvy is affecting the nation. His motto is "To Win Fans One Person At A Time." He is also Dean of Students at Mather High School. Music has been a priority for G as long as he can remember. Banging out House Music and Urban gigs, producing his famed mixtapes (now digital), working as a radio mixer and disc jockey at numerous stations.

Many who attend our Galas wear either semi-formal or business attire. Given the uptick in Covid cases we are strongly encouraging mask-wearing when not eating or drinking.

We will have food, dessert and drinks to help us celebrate as a community! Food will be from Tacotlán (Mexican), MacArthur's (Southern Cuisine) and Suffron (will have gluten free & vegan options). And, desserts from Pan Artesanal and Eméché Cakery & Café. We love supporting local businesses while we celebrate together as one way to work toward economic vitality!

Let's Connect. Transform. Thrive. together!

Tickets and sponsorships are SOLD OUT for 2023! You are invited to make a donation above!
