Currently, the Art students' work lies on different surfaces in the Art Room until Mrs. Delaney collects them when they dry. A mobile drying rack with 60 shelves would provide ample space for drying and protect students' work from damage or loss while freeing up the other work spaces in the Art Room.
Estimated cost is $600. Any unused donations will remain with the Art Department.
Mrs. Delaney is requesting donations for a downdraft vent for the ceramics kiln. A downdraft vent removes fumes, odors and vapors, and is particularly useful when firing materials such as metallics and high sulfur clays, which can emit strong odors.
The estimated cost is $635. Any unused donations will remain with the Art Department.
Mrs. Delaney would like 30 wedging boards for ceramics. Wedging boards allow for better storage, transportation, and flow of artwork in the ceramics classroom. The absorbent surface also makes building on them easier and rolling out clay slabs more efficient. These even help to prevent some of the silica dust particles from becoming airborne.
Estimated cost is $60 each. Any unused donations will remain with the Art Department.
A HEPA filtration wet/dry vacuum is desired to maintain the kiln in the Art Room. Clay dust and debris from pottery and fire brick land on the heating elements and corrode them. Additionally, the interior of the kiln should be vacuumed consistently to limit the amount of silica dust particles in the air.
Estimated cost is $150. Any unused donations will remain with the Art Department.
