Paula Jackson leads her perennial architectural history walking tour of the Chestnut Hill neighborhood, which has some of finest Victorian architecture in the city. Date to be determined after consultation with tour goers

Back by popular demand......We will start with some BBQ and beverages, and a brief explanation of firefighting history in Lancaster, along with a look at some firefighting artifacts from the days of old. At some convenient time after dinner, a call will come in! We will slide down the fire pole in orderly fashion like true professionals (yes, we really do have an operable fire pole in the house) and board the 1923 International Harvester Fire Engine for a delightful ride around Southern Lancaster County. We will return to the firehouse and celebrate our successful adventure with some ice cream for dessert! 6:00 on Saturday, Sept 9, 2023. Limited to 8 people.

Have fun driving one of our three adult and teen-sized trikes which steer by the rear semi-castor wheels. The fun comes in trying to drive these crazy things. It's like driving cars on ice! There are bumpers all around so you can run into your friends as you spin around in the park. Event will end with a sweet treat. Up to 7 people. Date to be decided between buyers and donor. More than one date is possible to accommodate unrelated buyers.

A woodland treasure trove for ALL ages located in Southern Lancaster County for 35 years. This 2 hour adventure walk, led by an engaging storyteller and environmentalist, features woodland trails, indigenous flora and fauna, use of your five senses, the mystery and magic of the forest, sheltering trees, talking rocks, gnome habitats and a troll bridge! Legends of these little creatures, are first introduced in the Gnomery Hut and then referenced throughout the nature walk. The tour season is from April through October. Inspired by Carol Lieber, join us (and the fairies) in creating Fairy Doors. Fairy doors are seen as a magical portal between the fairies and humans. They are a great addition to your garden, home, altar, or wherever you see fit.

Light refreshments and supplies will be provided. This activity is outside and will happen in September in time for Mabon.

Sharron Nelson will teach you to knit a Sophie scarf. This is a beginners knitting project for up to four people. Includes two lessons, yarn, needles, pattern, and tea and cookies.

Join Karen Galiano in her specially designed Mah Jongg room to learn this exciting tile game that originated in China. The lesson will take place on a mutually-agreed-upon Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. Snacks and light refreshments included. This event needs four players.

Andy will teach you how to play pickleball! Sunday afternoon, May 21st. Rain date May 28th. Spend up to 2 hours playing within 15 minutes drive of UUCL. All equipment will be provided. This sport is suitable for all ages and there is a growing pickleball community in Lancaster. Once you get started you might find yourself addicted!

Learn to make an origami box to give as a gift or store your little desk items, or momentos. We will also learn to make an origami envelope for that hand-written note, poem or gift certificate. Materials will be provided to make at least 3 boxes and one envelope per person but you are encouraged to bring old calendars that have colorful images or patterns, old Christmas cards, (the larger the better) and patterned paper or card stock. I can also provide watercolors and watercolor paper if you would like to make an original watercolor box with your choice of color and pattern. There will also be large beads available if you would like to opt for a "pull" on the top center of the lid of your box.

Oh what a story. This pair of Americana Folk art was made by a tinsmith from the Oley Valley, and bought at a PA Guild of Craftsmen show. They are signed (initials on the side), and the name could be researched by the Guild. Value $100 each. All parts movable.

Charming antique cast iron nutcracker in the shape of bushy-tailed squirrel. It stands 5 inches in height and is in very good condition, considering its age.

Set of vintage cast iron bookends, made at the original Lake Michigan lakefront casting foundry of Case, the tractor manufacturing plant in Racine, Wisconsin. Each bookend shows an American foundry steel worker in the labor art style of the 1930s. They are 6-1/2 inches in height and five inches wide, and the base is two inches. Each half weighs 2 pounds 10 ounces. There is a small amount of rust near under the base. We will let you remove it if you wish. The company, once known as Case, made these kinds of bookends to commemorate company milestones. It is now known as Case New Holland, and the foundry has been dismantled and razed, so these are a real find!

This is an original design and hand carved and painted wooden item.

If you love jigsaw puzzles, I am offering a one of a kind custom-made puzzle. 14x18 inches, 325 pieces. I have assembled it in about 4 days. It is a bit challenging. I would rate it 5 out of 10 in difficulty. The title is Fall Colors; it is an image of the leaves from my Sweet Gum tree this past fall. So many different colors and all from the same tree! You get the puzzle and an 8x11 inch high- quality photo as a reference for assembly.
