I have never participated in Trivia Night, what should I expect?

The annual Trivia Night is our school's largest fundraiser and all proceeds benefit the Pre-K through 8th grade students of SJE.

This in-person event is set up in the Church Parish Center, and is a fun, adults only, night out with BYO food and adult beverages, and provides the opportunity to connect with fellow SJE parents, grandparents, teachers, parishioners, friends, and supporters. An admission ticket is $30 per person.
**IMPORTANT: Team members DO NOT have to attend SJE or be parishioners, anyone is welcome to participate.

The night consists of a Trivia Game (8 rounds of 10 questions).
Not good at Trivia, no worries - it's all for FUN-DRAISING and socializing!

"Mulligans" are sold for $10 each and are optional. A mulligan buys your team a correct answer to help boost your score. **UPDATE** Each team can buy/use up to 10 Mulligans (regardless of # of players). They can be pre-purchased on this website, or bought the night of (but with cash only).

One of the best parts about Trivia Night is the online silent auction that is available to anyone, even if not attending in-person.
Items include generous donations from local businesses, SJE families, teachers, class projects, class baskets, teacher for a day, sports memorabilia, etc.
The auction items will be on display the night of, and the online auction website will be launched on the Monday before (February 20th @ 12pm).

Additionally, there will be other optional ways to participate and donate including raffle drawings, wine pull, and other fun things.

FAQs

When is it?

Saturday, February 25th. Doors open at 6pm, Trivia starts at 7pm - 10:30/11-ish.
The online auction will be open one week prior to the in-person event (Monday, February 20th).

How many players per team/table and how many tables?

8-10 players per table, up to 28 tables.
Don't have a team of 8-10, sign up anyway. We will make tables of 8-10 players.

Is a table name/theme required?

You must have a table name when registering so we can keep track of the teams. On the night of the event, coordinating with your teammates to dress up and decorate your table to represent your theme always makes the night a little more fun and exciting, and is strongly encouraged, but not required.  There will be voting for Best Table/Theme, and the winning table gets a $40 cash prize.

How many rounds of questions will there be?

There will be 8 rounds of 10 questions.

How do we register a team/table?

At the top of this page click on the "buy tickets" button. Each person can register themselves individually. Buying a ticket also registers you for online auction bidding. When registering, please enter your team name as this helps us keep track of the tables.

You can also designate a team captain to register the entire team at one time. However, each individual that wants to bid on items in the online auction must have a registered account with a credit card on file.

How much does it cost and when do we have to register by?

$30 per person to attend the in-person event.

$10 for Mulligans (OPTIONAL) - **UPDATE** Total 10 Mulligans Per Team (Regardless of # of Players)

Registration is first come, first serve and will close when all 28 tables are sold. Technically you can register to participate in-person up until the night of, but the earlier you register the better because this helps with overall planning.

What is a Mulligan?

A Mulligan buys your team a correct answer in a round. **UPDATE** Each team can buy a total of 10 Mulligans (Regardless of # of Players). They can be pre-purchased on this website, or bought the night of (but with cash only).

How do I bid on items in the online auction?

At the top of this site there is a "view items" link. Items will be added for preview only over the next several weeks.  The online auction will open for bidding on Monday, Feb 20th @ 12pm.

Do I have to attend the in-person event to bid on items in the online auction?

No, you do not have to be present in-person to bid on/win auction items. If you are not attending in-person you will need to pick up your winning item(s) from the school (Monday, February 27th from 2-4pm).  Please share this website with anyone (anywhere in the World) who may be interested in bidding on any of the items in the auction. Please note, SJE will not ship any items.  All winnings must be picked up at the school by a local contact.

Will there be a 50/50 Raffle?

Yes, there will be two 50/50 Raffle drawings (OPTIONAL). Tickets will be available for purchase in the next few weeks on this website. You DO NOT have to be present in-person to win.

FAQs (Cont.)

What is a Wine Pull?

In a couple of weeks the families of SJE will be asked to donate any bottles of wine they have at home and want to get rid of. This donation will be collected one morning during school drop off. Last year we received nearly 100 bottles ranging from $2 buck chuck to Cooper's Hawk! Each bottle will be randomly designated a playing card. The night of, for $10 you can buy a random draw playing card. If, for example, you pick the Queen of Hearts, you win the bottle that has the matching card.
This is an OPTIONAL thing to participate in.

Will there be other raffles, drawings the night of?

Yes, and they are OPTIONAL. There will be a raffle drawing for an item donated by the Athletics families, another card game, and maybe more (TBD). If you have any items to raffle, or other ideas to implement, please let us know. The more ways to bring in donations for this event, the better!

How will I be notified of any updates/changes?

Updates will be sent from this website via email and text. When you register you will be asked to enter your email address and cell number, and please do so to stay informed.
