The artist used the Japanese Notan cut out technique to create this quilt.

NOTAN is a Japanese word that means "dark - light": it is a technique that teaches how to create harmony and balance in space using SYMMETRY, white, the clear space of light, and black, the darkness.

When viewed with 3D glasses, the design levitates off the background.
