You can still participate in the auction!Since 1996 Iowa State Fair fans have been purchasing a special handmade piece of pottery in support of Fairgrounds renovations. Over the years select pieces have been given back to the Blue Ribbon Foundation to use once again for the benefit of our renovation efforts. This auction showcases some of those pieces, including that very first piece from 1996, as well as some other special items. There are also three pieces that are available for direct purchase, just add them to your cart.
Bidding Details:
This special pottery auction will run Thursday, November 10 beginning at 10:00 a.m. (CST) to Sunday, November 13 at 8:00 p.m.
Bidding is only done online through this website. To bid, you must register as a bidder and provide the required information on the form, including a valid credit card number.
All sales are final and are non-refundable. Pottery is sold as is. The Foundation provides no warranty or guarantee on any item.
A receipt for your purchases will be emailed to you within 72 hours of the auction closing.
The buyer is solely responsible for compliance with any federal, state or local tax laws governing your purchase. We recommend consulting your tax professional.
Any item not picked up by November 30, 2022 will be considered a gift back to the Foundation unless other arrangements have been made.
How to pick up pottery:
Pick up: Pottery can be picked up at the Blue Ribbon Foundation office on the Iowa State Fairgrounds starting on Tuesday, November 14. Hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Pottery must be picked up by November 30, 2022. The Foundation office is located in the earth home on the Fairgrounds. This building is on E. 34th Street just north of the Fun Forest and MidAmerican Energy Stage. A map is located at https://www.iowastatefair.org/visit/directions.
Shipping: Pottery can be shipped directly to you. If you want your pottery piece(s) shipped, a shipping item will be added to your account. The cost to ship is $12.00 for one piece and $2 for each additional piece. To add the cost of shipping to your purchase, add the "Shipping" Item to your cart. If you have additional pieces, select the "Additional Shipping" Item and add to your cart for the necessary number of extra items.
If the pottery piece(s) you won is not picked up by Wednesday, November 30, or other arrangements have not been made with the Blue Ribbon Foundation, we will consider your items to be a donation back to the Foundation and will use the unclaimed items in future events.

The Foundation reserves the right to withdraw any item from sale at any time or change the item's description/listing.
Packages may be added or altered until the start of bidding at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. While donations to the Foundation are tax deductible, purchases of items of value are not fully tax deductible. The amount paid for an item over the fair market value may be considered a tax deductible contribution. Your emailed receipt will indicate the value of the package(s) you purchased. Please retain these receipts and consult with your tax professional.
