This original 12x14-inch intarsia sculpture of a noble, old-school warrior was created specifically for the ultimate BNI Warrior bidding in the 2023 Big Event. There is no other sculpture identical to this one.

It was sculpted by Christopher Klocek, BNI '77, the same artist whose 7-foot intarsia sculpture of St. Joseph the Worker hangs in the nationally acclaimed Bishop Noll STREAM Lab. This latest Klocek intarsia was made entirely of domestic and exotic hardwoods - 11 species from three different continents - with no stains, paints, dyes or tints. The colors in the sculpture come directly from the species of hardwood.

In a rematch of last year's highly viewed college football season opener, this year's Notre Dame vs. Ohio State battle will take place September 23 at Notre Dame Stadium.

Aluado Alicante Bouschet 2021 (Vinho Regional Lisboa, Portugal): Alicante Bouschet is one of the only known red grapes to have red skin and pulp, a rare characteristic that imparts deep color and structure to blends.

Camino de Seda "Seleccion Especial" 2021 (Jumilla DO, Spain): This "Special Selection" Monastrell offers, judges say, "attractive notes of pepper and spice, touch herbal with ripe raspberry."

Cuvee du Vatican Reserve de l'Abbe 2020 (Cotes-du-Rhone AOC, France): A classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, it features a crisp nose of jammy red and black berries with a floral sensation.

The Clink Petite Sirah Petit Verdot 2021 (California): This lush California arrival, made from inky-dark grapes, features a bold, berry and chocolatey decadence for those who love rich, fruit-packed reds.

Capital Z Zinfandel 2021 (Lodi, California): This first-class Zinfandel comes from a grape originating in Croatia (where it was called Tribidrag), found its way to Italy (called Primitivo) then brought to the Golden State.

Purple Owl Pinot Noir 2021 (California): Named for the clover that blankets some California vineyards, this release arrives with silky-smooth flavors of ripe red berries and subtle violet.

The Assist Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (California): An exuberant red that's bursting with rich black currant and blackberry flavors and a lush, velvety texture.
