With every blend of Uncle Nearest, fifth generation Nearest Green descendant and our master blender, Victoria Eady Butler, selects a barrel she believes to be the most spectacular of the batch and sets it aside. For the first time ever, these select barrels have been blended together to create our most perfect blend. Known as the "Godfather of Tennessee Whiskey," Nearest Green was the world's first known African American master distiller.

Cask 111 is the unfiltered, cask-forward expression of our signature Tennessee High Malt recipe. Distilled from a single fermentation, each 6-10 barrel lot has been hand-selected by our distilling team to highlight the subtle nuances between each batch of this distinctly full-bodied and robust whiskey. By omitting the filtration process, our whiskey retains every bit of character captured from its long maturation.

The Bourbon: Sometimes, magic happens. In our case, after our ryes took the market by storm, we turned some of our attention to those barrels of bourbon that had been aging the whole time. We confidently tout that just our 5 year bourbons will rival your 8, 10 and 12 years...and win. Rich, bold and unashamedly bourbon, you have to try these.

The Rum: You have to try our 4 year Caribbean rum that was rebarreled into freshly dumped whiskey barrels. Bold but smooth. Sweet and sassy. Sweet sugar cane upfront with a nice bourbon finish.

We're proud to resurrect our remarkable family recipe, with the first bottling since 1909. Painstakingly filtered through a mellowing bed of sugar maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels, it's easy to taste why Charles Nelson's wheated mash bill recipe and meticulous process set the standard by which all future Tennessee Whiskeys are judged. We think you'll agree that it's been well worth the wait.

There are eight different stoppers across random bottles of Blanton's-the brand known as the 'whiskey with the horse on top'. They were added in 1999, each stopper has a letter circled on the lower left side to spell out "B-L-A-N-T-O-N'-S." These are visible upon purchase, though some customers claim that some letters are harder to find than others.

You'll want to savor the taste of this premium Single Barrel again and again. It's complex, full-bodied and surprisingly smooth with a delicate, long finish that's unbelievably mellow. Drink straight up or on the rocks. 100 proof. 50% alcohol/volume.

The nose is sweet and a bit more "bourbon-forward" than the toasted maple barrel finish I just drank. This one leans more towards traditional caramel. There is sweet oak and plenty of ground cinnamon to find. I'm still getting that savory-herb note that I found in the maple barrel too.
