Provide help with a much-needed cleanup kit and comfort supplies for a family of 4 following a disaster.
Each cleanup kit includes a sectional handle with mop, broom, squeegee and push broom heads, pail, scrub brush, sponge, disinfectant, detergent/degreaser, bleach, trash bags, gloves and dust mask.
Comfort kits contain deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, facial tissues, wash cloth, shampoo, liquid soap, lotion, comb, razor and shaving cream.

This gift will cover the cost of testing, typing, and matching a unit of blood to help a sickle cell patient.

There is no universal cure for sickle cell disease, but blood transfusions are proven to effectively treat the disease.

A single sickle cell patient can require multiple blood transfusions per year throughout their lifetime in order to treat complications from sickle cell disease.

This gift will deliver healing Reconnection Workshops to a service member (or veteran) and their family.

The American Red Cross provides skill-building workshops, led by licensed mental health professionals, to assist service members, veterans and their families with the stress that comes from navigating various transitions, including moving, deploying, separating from service and navigating as a veteran civilian.

Workshop topics include Effective Communication, Trauma Talk, Emotional Grit, Defusing Anger, Connecting with Kids, and more.

Your gift provides the installation of a special "bed shaker" smoke alarm for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

These alarms work in conjunction with audible alarms to alert individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to the dangers of a home fire using multiple sensory stimuli, such as flashing lights, low-frequency audio alerts and shaking or vibrations.
Your gift covers the fire safety training and installation for a bed shaker smoke alarm.

The Red Cross, through coalitions of community partners, installs smoke alarms and provides fire and disaster safety education in at-risk communities across the country

Your generous gift provides a full day of food and shelter to a family of four following a disaster.

From house fires to multi-state disasters, the Red Cross goes wherever we're needed, so people can have clean water, safe shelter, and hot meals when families are faced with emergencies.

This gift includes providing breakfast, lunch and dinner, the costs to mobilize and
distribute a cot, two blankets, and comfort kits as well as the cost of Red Cross workers to provide this service.

Your $350 gift covers the daily cost to deploy an Emergency Response Vehicle to a disaster.

This specialized vehicle was designed by the Red Cross to serve people affected by
disasters by driving through affected communities to deliver meals, snacks, relief supplies, information and comfort.

This daily cost includes the cost of fuel and maintenance, as well as travel, meals and shelter for the 2 Red Cross disaster workers who operate the vehicle.

Red Cross volunteers respond to a local disaster - most often a house or apartment fire - every 18 hours. Our volunteers are on call 24 hours a day to assist local children and families who have lost their home to a house fire, flood, or other devastation. Children and families left homeless from disasters seek the Red Cross in their time of need. We've found that the majority of people affected by local disasters are children.

They come to us, often with only the clothes on their backs seeking a caring person. In return, our Disaster Action Teams (DAT), made up entirely of volunteers, provide comfort kits for personal hygiene, emergency shelter, food, clothing, and appropriate financial assistance. We also link children and parents to housing assistance, social services, and mental health services to help assist with the devastating loss of their homes, belongings, pets, loved ones, and often their "old lives." In essence, we help them begin anew.

Your $700 gift covers the cost of local disaster response and includes dispatching an ERV or other Red Cross vehicle, deploying 2 volunteers, providing immediate relief and comfort kits. and providing financial
assistance to 1 affected family.
