Our wine country tours start in Sonoma's town square. Participants ride our three-wheeled electric Pushpak vehicles (2 per vehicle) through Sonoma's wine country. Our tours include: historical stops and information about Sonoma, excursions through vineyards and neighborhoods with spectacular homes, wine and cheese tastings (cost of wine tastings not included), and stops at various points of beauty and interest. Please note: cheese tastings are not available Sundays and Mondays. Custom tours are available for parties over twelve. Tours go out daily at 10 am and 1:30 pm.

Local Fine Artist Laura Culver earned a B.S. in Graphic Design from UC Davis. After a career in stock photography and advertising, she settled in San Rafael CA, and for several years was an artist specializing in Hand-Colored Photography.

However, her life changed in 2006, when she chanced upon a local oil painting class. A little fun quickly became a driving passion, and she left the photography behind, to pursue the creativity and challenge of plein air (outdoor, on location) oil painting. She began studies with Camille Przewodek, the Marin Art School and many others. Focusing on the "Colorist" approach, she gradually developed a distinct soft style, with a palette of intense warm and cool colors.

Laura was a long-time MarinScapes artist until their closure in 2020. She is an "Artist" member of the California Art Club and is represented by the Fairmont Gallery in Sonoma. Nearest to her heart, she is a member of the BayWood Artists, a small group of professional landscape painters dedicated to the preservation of local open spaces.

Local artist Dorian Frances original acrylic abstract painting, Dorian's cousin Clifford Smith is supported by Lifehouse.

Dorian has been a designer her entire life. She started oil painting when she was nine, then declared art as her major at Santa Clara University and also studied art in Florence. Dorian was a designer at Marina Florist. While in the City she focused on painting, including artistic realism, creating perspectives and trompe l'oeil (fool the eye) scenes. She painted murals in the lobbies of multi-million-dollar condo projects and faux marbles and finishes in wonderful Old Pacific Heights Victorians.

Since then, her painting has become much looser and she has expanded into layered abstracts, flowers and illustrating the adventures of dachshund Sally.

Dorian works mainly in acrylics, with some oil pastel. She loves color and the play of light on objects. Everything is just a shape, some shapes we recognize, some we don't. They all invoke an emotion. Dorian is inspired by nature, and all of the rich patterns and colors it creates and repeats over and over; from the figures we know and love, like dogs, roses and wreaths of flowers, to abstract figures and shapes floating through a world we can only imagine.

The Studio Collection of finely crafted color photographs were taken by Zeny and printed in a traditional darkroom by hand. These photographs were printed between the last decades of the Twentieth Century and 2015 in the darkroom in Palm Desert. Each individual print has undergone the meticulous, time-consuming and demanding twelve stage process before it is ready for presentation to the discerning viewer.

Each Fine Art Photograph is hand-signed, numbered, titled and its location noted at the bottom or back of each print. The edition is limited to just 150 prints. There are very few of the Studio Collection photographs left for the discriminating collector to acquire.

Our family has been growing grapes in Dry Creek Valley for nearly five decades, driven by the desire to produce appellation-focused, terroir-driven, varietal-defining wines. We believe in crafting our wines in the vineyard, with healthy soil and flourishing vines, so there is minimal intervention when the fruit is brought to the winery. Primarily known for Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc, our home appellation has become an undiscovered gem for Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varietals.

We are proud that our 185 acres of estate vineyards are 100% certified sustainable. We walk the land, replenish the soil naturally, and make multiple pruning passes throughout the growing season to ensure that our grapes are balanced and delicious when they reach their peak ripeness. Kendric Vineyards is a small vigneron's operation.

In 2001, having caught the Pinot Noir bug and after much prospecting, I started work on planting my own vineyard on a plot of pasture land in Northern Marin. The location is a couple miles west of Highway 101 where you pass Olompali State Park, off San Antonio Rd. and right at the Sonoma border. It's roughly equidistant between Tomales Bay and the SF Bay. I got the 8.5 acres (all Pinot except for a few short experimental rows) planted in 2002 and got my first crop in 2004. Other varieties were added via grafting in the vineyard, as I figured out both what I could ripen and where in the vineyard the Pinot performed best.

I started making the wines (Marin Pinot and Shenandoah Valley Syrah) in other wineries' facilities, starting with the 2004 vintage. I eventually got my own production facility ("Winery" might be a little too grand a term) on Treasure Island fitted out and ready to process grapes starting with the 2013 vintage. I hope to be able to welcome visitors to a tasting room soon, but I've been saying that for years now. For the moment, you can catch me hawking the wines, and pouring a rotating selection of samples, at the Marin Civic Center Farmers Market nearly every Sunday (outside of harvest season) from 8:00 - 1:00.

2017 La Pommeraie Chardonnay Magnum

TASTING NOTES

Vivid aromas of citrus blossom, pineapple and green papaya. The vibrancy of aromas is
matched by its opulent texture and layered flavors of candied orange rind and crème
brûlée followed by a mineral laden finish. Indigenous yeast fermentation in French oak
barrels and extended aging of 16 months on lees drives this wine's exceptional complexity.

HARVEST NOTES

After 4 years of drought in Sonoma County the 2016 growing season started with
abundant and consistent rainfall, replenishing reservoirs and recharging soils with much
needed water. Moderate spring temperatures encouraged the vines out of dormancy with
an early bud break. Light but consistent rainfall and moderate temperatures in the spring
provided optimal conditions for rapid shoot growth and the growing season got off to a fast
and furious pace. Temperatures during bloom were nearly perfect in the Russian River
Valley resulting in yields that are likely at, or near, Sonoma County's historic average. The
weather through the summer continued with warm days and cool nights, with very few heat
spikes.

WINEGROWER NOTES

This spectacular vineyard sits along Laguna Ridge at the edge of the Green Valley AVA.
Meticulously farmed and planted at a very high density of 2,420 vines per acre, the
vineyard consists of Dijon clone 548 and 95. Once a spectacular apple orchard we pay
homage to the Martinelli Family and the history of the site by naming the wine 'La
Pommeraie,' French for apple orchard.

TASTING NOTES

The 2018 vintage provided the raw materials to produce a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir with intense fruit and spice aromas and layered texture. Aromas are dominated by red fruits of plum and vine-ripened raspberry, while black fruits dominate on the palate. The vibrant aromas expand and give way to red plum, toasted brioche and allspice. On the palate the wine has integrated acidity and fine tannins that should allow for mid-term cellaring. As always, the wine was bottled without fining or filtration.

HARVEST NOTES:

Our winemaker called the vintage 'a return to normal,' as the growing season was long and harvest conditions were exceptional with long hangtime and a slow and predictable harvest. Almost ideal conditions during flowering led to a generous cluster count and almost no shatter. The summer conditions were ideal, with cool (foggy) mornings where the sun didn't peek through the marine layer until lunchtime. The harvest conditions were quite cool, and the vintage will be remembered for extended ripening and an exceptionally long hang time. The resulting vintage delivered very high quality and above average yields for all our estate vineyards.

WINEGROWER NOTES:

Through intensively farming each vineyard site, our intent is to maximize the character and individuality of place and we do so utilize the most progressive viticultural techniques. Harvested at night, the fruit was rigorously hand sorted prior to destemming and then berry selected before open top fermentation. This blend is a collection of heirloom clones of Pinot Noir like Calera, Swan, Pommard, Mt. Eden, and Chalone as well as newer French selections like Dijon 777 & 943.

The Alexander Valley has been lauded for the quality of its Cabernet Sauvignon and Toby Lane Vineyard produces one of the best. The lush soil of Chalk Hill Ranch imparts our grapes with a dark chocolate and sandalwood flavor. These characteristics are reflected in this full-bodied wine while the well-integrated tannins provide a long, smooth finish. Our "Cab" is maturing beautifully and will be available for sale from 2014 through 2025.

2014 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a garnet color. It has an alluring nose of chocolate-covered strawberries, vanilla, nutmeg, with a smooth mouth feel. On the palate, it has a broad yet delicate entry and offers cranberry flavors. The wine finishes with silky tannins, cedar and bramble flavors with excellent length and return. This wine is drinkable upon release, but given proper cellaring conditions can be enjoyed for the next 15 years.

Dijon clone 115 from two Mendocino vineyard sites. 55% Whole cluster fermentation from Mariah vineyard in the Mendocino Ridge. 50% whole berry fermentation Webb Ranch, in Redwood Valley.

On the nose: Mixed redwood forest, pine resin, with a costal character of salt air, res delicious apple skins, blackberry, porcini mushrooms.

On the palate: Brandied cherries, pomegranate, blood orange peel and cranberry. Mid palate: nutmeg and cinnamon frame out the mineral drive finish. Plenty of tannin for age.
