Liston Studios Tahoe Platter
$190Entitled, "Tahoe Map in Winter," Nancy Liston of Liston Studios has created this very special plate for our fundraiser. It measures 14 x 14 x 1.5 and is absolutely stunning. Tahoe residents will appreciate all of the iconic features of this piece of art that can be appreciated by you or someone you want something special for.
Her work is amazing and her website is something to visit. www.listonstudios.com
Nancy uses earthenware as the substrate for her platters. Earthenware is a very porous clay. It is filled with air, thus making it unstable in the microwave and with high heats of dishwashers. Mineral based glazes are hand-painted onto the earthenware shapes. The piece is then overglazed with a clear cover coat. This overglaze has and will crackle over time. For these reasons, use of microwave and dishwasher are not advised.
One of a kind items are her specialty!

"Gratitude" by Phyllis Shafer
$250"Gratitude", is a limited-edition artist's relief print by local artist, Phyllis Shafer. The image, a landscape view of Hope Valley from Blue Lakes Road, is first carved into a dense rubber plate. It is then inked so that the high, untouched, surface of the plate retains the ink while the carved areas remain white - thus creating the image. Paper is laid on the plate and run through a high-pressure printing press. This print is number 43 of an edition of 50 prints and is approximately 8.5 x 12 inches, unframed.
