3D printing is a large part of the PLTW Introduction to Engineering Design course that we offer at St. Thomas More. We are looking to replace a printer that has been in use since the early days of our engineering program at STM.

Students learn to problem-solve solutions or product improvements by designing their ideas on Fusion 360, a CAD program, and then 3D printing their designs. The final project for the course has them designing a small automaton toy that is powered by gears and cams that they design and 3D print to animate their toy.
