When Schweiger Vineyards first started in 1984, it was to fulfill Fred and Sally Schweiger's dream of growing grapes on property they had owned in Napa County for over 20 years. Back then, there was no Spring Mountain District and very few vineyards were established in the region. By 1994, Spring Mountain had become one of Napa's top spots to source Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux-style grapes. That year, Fred and Sally tapped their son, Andy, to begin making small amounts of wine from their estate. While the original focus was Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Andy wanted to add diversity to the Schweiger wine portfolio, planting Cabernet Franc and Malbec, and giving birth to their Bordeaux-style blend, Dedication . The Schweiger family has put together a captivating Spring Mountain experience complete with an impressive selection of cellar-enhancing wine for two lucky couples.

Working together with Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, a scholarship fund named in his memory has been established, and each year, scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who have benefited from one of DCWAF's 16 partner charities throughout their lifetime.
Ellison, like his parents, had a heart for charity. The money he was saving for a donation to a children's charity was the first donation made to this scholarship fund that will continue his legacy.

What is a Super Tuscan? These wines are produced in Italy's Tuscany region using a blend of Bordeaux grape varietals with some Sangiovese. Sassicaia was officially the first Super Tuscan. Its story began in the 1940s when Mario Incisa della Rocchetta planted Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc vines on his estate in Bolgheri to test how the local, maritime Tuscan terroir would respond to classic Bordeaux varieties.

The soils have a top layer of calcareous shale, filled with old marine bones, shells, diatoms, and plankton, with clay, metals, and quartz below. The wine is aged in 30% new French oak, 28% one-year-old French oak, 33% concrete tank, and 9% amphora for 14 months with no fining or filtration.

A tribute to the great Merlots of the world, the highly allocated 2016 W.S. Keyes checks in as 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon. This inky colored beauty offers a huge nose of black cherries, currants, graphite, licorice, crushed rocks, and new leather. It's rich, powerful, concentrated, and layered, with terrific acidity and freshness, building tannin and incredible length. It's a tour de force in Merlot that will benefit from short- term cellaring and will keep for 20-25 years or more.
It was Nicolas Catena who thrust Argentinian wine into the modern era. A widely traveled academic economist, he learned from his exposure to great Bordeaux and Napa wines in the 1970s. In the early 1980s, Catena agreed the key was to plant the right varieties in the right location, specifically cooler, higher sites.
Nicolas Catena Zapata dared to plant vines where no one thought they would ripen. His high-altitude wine revolution culminated in discovery of a new terroir for wine. The Adrianna Vineyard, at almost 5,000 feet elevation, is considered South America's "Grand Cru."
Today, the team at the Catena Institute of Wine is dedicated to studying every meter, rock, insect, and microorganism in the Adrianna Vineyard, making it perhaps the most studied vineyard in the world.

Eric Sussman, born and raised in New York State, developed his passion for winegrowing while studying agriculture at Cornell University. After spending several years in Washington's Yakima Valley, he immersed himself in France's old-world culture and traditions over two exceptional vintages, working at Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Pauillac and Domaine Comte Armand and Domaine Jacques Prieur in Burgundy. Aromatically this wine says "I am from Napa," with bright red and black berries, cocoa, and spices. Once you take a sip, the Old World, classic Bordeaux texture and subtle fruit flavors dominate. As the name suggests, this wine is 50% Napa Valley and 50% Bordeaux.

This 2016 Maverick Vineyard Pinot Noir shows aromatics of lavender over crushed warm blackberries, tar and caramelized black plums, and freshly ground black pepper over a baked cherry clafoutis. Grapes for these Malbecs are grown in the Andes Mountains of Argentina, then chilled and transported by ocean voyage to Caymus, where they use winemaking techniques to create a style that is dense, dark, and supple. Falling outside standard labeling rules, Red Schooner does not include a vintage date but is known by the voyage from which it traveled (i.e. Voyage 10 is the 2020 vintage). Fulldraw began in 2012 when Connor McMahon jumped on the opportunity to acquire a 100-acre vineyard site in the Templeton Gap of western Paso Robles. With six years of winemaking and farming experience at adjacent property, Booker Vineyard, Connor understood that with its limestone soils and cooling maritime influences, this was a place where the Rhone varieties he loved would thrive. For the 'Drift' bottling, the Clairette Blanche and Grenache Blanc were picked to preserve and complement the great structure, acidity, and freshness retained from the vines and limestone soil on the vineyard. A sumptuous palate is complemented with creamy fruits and beautiful aromatics. Fermentation in new oak adds a lush mouthfeel without being too viscous.
The 2018 Mt. Veeder Sauvignon Blanc was bottled in the summer of 2019. Composed of 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Semillon and fermented in 22% new oak, 47% neutral oak, and 31% concrete, it was then aged for 10 months. The nose charges right out of the gate with energetic white peaches, passion fruit, and pink grapefruit notes plus wafts of honeysuckle, beeswax, and mandarin peel with a touch of lemongrass. The medium-bodied palate possesses wonderful intensity with loads of expressive layers, defined by a racy backbone, finishing long and honey-laced.
With Diatom, winemaker Greg Brewer seeks to capture Chardonnay in its most pure and unadulterated state. Diatom is named for diatomaceous earth, which is a plankton fossil found in the oceanic landscape of Santa Barbara County.
The 2020 Chardonnay is outrageously beautiful. Rich and textured in the glass, with plenty of bright acids, the 2020 is wonderfully alive. Greg Brewer has done a tremendous job in crafting a Chardonnay that is both texturally deep and intense. The 2020 is simply magnificent.
Reviving a Napa Valley tradition begun by her father, pioneering winemaker Hanns Kornell of Kornell Champagne Cellars, Paula Kornell is carrying on the family legacy in her own way with Paula Kornell Sparkling Wine.

Saxum Vineyards is focused on producing Grenache, Syrah, and Mataro based blends from the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles. They let the rocky calcareous soils, steep hillsides, sunny days, and cooling ocean breezes speak through their wines by keeping their yields low, picking the fruit at the peak of ripeness, and using a minimalist approach in the cellar. They respect the land and farm everything sustainably without chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.
The James Berry Vineyard cuvee is a red fruit-driven, Grenache-based blend, with a large portion of Mataro for texture, and Syrah as spicy support. 'The Hexe,' meaning to perform magic, is the dark side of Grenache. It is a multi-vineyard cuvee built around the most intense blocks of Grenache combined with Mataro and Petite Sirah. Rocket Block is a particular Grenache block of James Berry Vineyard that offers a little something for everyone. It is lifted with fresh aromatics of sage, spice, and fruit, along with deep textures, smooth tannins, and lively acids that harmonize well.

Clos Solene is a family-owned winery on the westside of Paso Robles in the heart of the Willow Creek District. Clos Solene thrives on team effort. Guillaume Fabre and assistant winemaker, Aurelien Crouzet, focus on the vineyards and the wines, while Solene Fabre and Roxanne Malkie run operations. Together as a team, Clos Solene is no longer pouring out of their kitchen, but in a quaint tasting room nestled in the vines of the 28-acre estate.
Guillaume made Fleur de Solene for his wife and his muse, Solene. One of her wishes for their portfolio is to feature a wine that tastes great from the moment it is bottled and could age potentially for a decade. Although originally from the Midwest, a summer in France convinced Andy Erickson that his calling was wine. Beginning his journey in Napa Valley and Sonoma, he soon moved to Mendoza in Argentina. Nothing short of perfection, Ackerman Family Vineyards was founded in 1994 and did not release its first commercial vintage for nine years. Each year, they produced small- batch boutique lots. They gave them away as gifts to other winemakers and esteemed sommeliers in Napa Valley, gathering feedback and constructive criticism on what to change the following year. They released it to the public only when they felt it was worth it.
President and founder, Lauren Ackerman put her heart and soul into the brand she's built and has made philanthropy an integral part of the meaning and drive. Recently, she was elected to be on the General Advisory Planning Committee (GPAC) 2040, a special committee of 15 members that advises the Mayor and City Council of Napa on strategic initiatives for the next 20 years of Napa's growth.
