The soaring views from Desert Mountain may rival those of any other course at Desert Mountain, but you'll want to keep your head down and your eye on the prize. Your best driving game is required as the downhill, uphill, and sideways fairways are lined with thick desert plants and shrubs, almost guaranteeing an errant ball. Play for position in the fairways and on the greens instead of trying to hit your longest shot. And don't be fooled by several carries over canyons, washes, or bunkers - the landing areas are wider than they appear.
"Desert Mountain has been one of the highlights of my career as a golf course designer. I believe it will always be recognized as one of the greatest golf clubs in the world."- JACK NICKLAUS

Described from the day it opened as one of the most scenic courses in the area, ECC features a Beau Welling-designed, 18-hole golf course. The Club also boasts a full-service practice facility including a 300-yard driving range, expanded putting green, and a three-green, short game facility with different chipping and pitching options. The course itself surprises golfers with one striking use of the area's landscape after another. It also offers a challenge that is different with every round of play. The championship, par 70 golf course features rolling terrain, beautiful Zoysia fairways and trees, and is set against a breathtaking backdrop of the city.
At 1,582 feet, the highest point in Huntsville, The Ledges offers an 18-hole championship golf course like no other in Alabama.
The award winning course was designed by Hurdzan/Fry GCD, Inc., and first opened in 2000. In 2003, Designer Mike Hurdzan was named Designer of the Year by Golf Magazine for his work at The Ledges. He was also chosen as the recipient of the 2013 Old Tom Morris Award by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
The goal of The Ledges developers was to preserve the mountain's natural beauty while creating a world-class golf course. Of the 750 acres set for development, 450 acres were set aside as a natural green belt protecting it from future development. 250 acres of the land are now a nationally recognized golf course, while 150 acres are used for the mountain's residential development.
