Bottle of Gregoire Hoppenot
$75PER OLCC RULES, this item is only available for auction on 11/29/22 from 9am until 9pm!
You're bidding on one bottle of Domaine Gregoire Hoppenot Morgon Corcelette 2020!
"Beaujolais native Grégoire Hoppenot was born to make a wine from the legendary 'Corcelette' vineyard. In a region full of young, ambitious producers, his star is one of the brightest of all.
One thing Hoppenot mentions when describing his wines is that he makes them "sans fard" ("without makeup"). I can't resist repeating that in just about every Hoppenot offer we do. Today's wine was fermented on ambient yeasts in concrete vats, then aged about eight months in a combination of tanks and used pièces bourguignonnes (228-liter Burgundy barrels). In the glass, the 2020 is textbook Corcelette: deep ruby-purple moving to magenta at the rim, with a complex nose of black raspberry, red and black cherry, Damson plum, damp violets, dried herbs, black pepper, and crushed stones. It is deeply flavored and medium-plus in body, with a persistent mineral/floral finish and lots of focus-the juicy fruit is framed perfectly by freshness and a firm backbone of fine-grained tannin. Right now, the wine is in a youthful, "primary" phase and will benefit from 30+ minutes in a decanter, after which it starts to really sing at 60 degrees in a Burgundy glass. Meanwhile, it is going to really hit its stride in 3-5 years' time, so do yourself a favor and grab more than one bottle today. Among other things, this will be the most versatile red wine in your entertaining arsenal, pairing beautifully with everything from skirt steak or burgers to coq au vin and roast pork. It's got everything I need and nothing I don't-Cru Beaujolais at its best!"

Benoit Roseau's Cote Rotie
$75PER OLCC RULES, this item is only available for auction on 11/29/22 from 9am until 9pm!
You're bidding on one bottle of Benoit Roseau Cote Rotie Coteaux de Tupin!
Although Benoît grew up in the Northern Rhône and his family has a history of grape growing in other parts of Europe, he has literally created his domaine from the ground up. From converting a sheep shelter into a cellar, to planting vineyards at the Côteau Taupin in Côte-Rôtie and around his family's home in Pélussin, Benoît is truly building every piece of his domaine. All of these vineyards are worked either biodynamically or organically, and many are in process of certification. The grapes are foot-trodden, fermentation occurs with native yeast in neutral vessels (either stainless steel or resin tanks), the wines are pressed off using an old basket press, and are raised in old 600L demi-muid barrels. The wines are traditional in style and echo the great Northern Rhône wines of the past.
Benoît Roseau's Côte Rôtie comes from the incredible Coteaux de Tupin, a small 0.24 hectare site he has been working on since 2012. Made from 100% Syrah, the wine shows an open, floral nose with notes of macerated cherries, ripe blackberries and wet earth. The palate is full-bodied with lovely softeness and a fine acidity that supports those lovely violet floral and dark fruit falvors that flow into a luxurious and long finish with excellent concentration and complexity
