Alyssa Raymond is an anchor and reporter for WPXI, Channel 11.  She's a Pittsburgh native and graduated from Moon High School.  Her love for journalism began with the school newspaper, MoonBeams.  After high school, she attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and International Business.  Before graduating, she lived in Florence, Italy for four months.

After college, she took a reporting job in Winchester, Virginia and then her career took her to Little Rock, Arkansas and Cleveland, Ohio. Just prior to joining Channel 11, she spent three years as an anchor and reporter at WTHR in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In 2018, she won a Lower Great Lakes Chapter Regional Emmy for a story about a teenager who was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma.  The 17-year-old threw a "Party to Die For" and wanted her parents to host a FUNeral instead of a funeral.  The story was part of a series Alyssa created called "A Ray of Sunshine."  Alyssa decided to create "A Ray of Sunshine" because people would tell her over and over again that they don't watch the news because it's so negative. She wanted to play a role in changing that narrative by featuring the good in people. (P.S. - One of Alyssa's nicknames is ARay.)

In 2020, during a year filled with so much uncertainty and distance, Alyssa wanted to close the gap and be closer to what really matters and that's family!  She moved home to Pittsburgh and started working for Channel 11 in October 2020.

Besides smiling and spreading positivity, Alyssa enjoys cooking, traveling, golfing, biking, skiing and hiking with her fiancé and their golden retriever, Skipper.
