Have some fun with the family and see some great baseball with two 100th Anniversary (2023) season ticket books with 40 tickets. Bid HIGH & NOW to have this fun in the sun!! Come support Shasta County's Boys of Summer as minor league style baseball hits it big in Redding, CA. Some of America's best professional baseball prospects will make Shasta County their home this summer. Many Colt 45 players stay with local Redding families throughout the season. The Colt 45s mission is to provide an environment where each team member is accountable to his teammates for his development and personal growth as an individual and as a baseball player. We strive to teach the game of baseball, to help each individual achieve their full potential in life, and to learn the keys to winning hard work, dedication, perseverance, and sportsmanship. There were three Redding baseball teams in 1907 - the Eaton Confectionary Team, the Redding Baseball Club and the Redding Royal Tigers Baseball Club. Each team made its home on the diamond at Recreation Park, which was located near the corner of Court Street and Eureka Way, home of the present-day YMCA. Of the three teams, the best-known franchise was the Redding Royal Tigers Baseball Club. The team shortened its name to the Redding Tigers at the end of the 1908 season. In 1923, the Redding Tigers made their debut on the brand-new Tiger Field. The Tigers' first game of the 1923 season was scheduled against the Redding Elks Baseball Club on April 1. The Colt 45s raised over $18K for other nonprofits by sharing their gate receipts, and they are proud to partner with community-oriented organizations. The Colt 45s play at Tiger Field which they are celebrating its 100th year serving the Redding Community in 2023. Please be sure to thank them for the generous support & donation when you see them!

The Youth Violence Prevention Council of Shasta County (YVPC) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to prevent youth violence and promote a safe and healthy community. The Youth Violence Prevention Council Executive Board is composed of top-flight leaders from a broad cross-section of the business, law enforcement, government, faith, and education sectors of Shasta County. In response to the youth gang issues in our county, the Youth Violence Prevention Council was created in 1996 and became an integral part of the effort to rid our communities of youth gangs. The thrust of the Youth Violence Prevention Council involves the coordination of primary education on youth issues and youth advocacy, all aimed at keeping our county youth gang free and safe for all citizens, young and older alike. With increased youth gang-related problems in counties to our immediate south, it is important that the citizens of Shasta County stay vigilant in our efforts to keep youth gangs out of Shasta County. The fact that our county has had very few gang related felonies in the past 10+ years is due in large part to a coordinated partnership between law enforcement, schools, agencies, and organizations such as the Youth Violence Prevention Council.
