A Message From Your 2023 BASH Chairs
It is our privilege to chair the 50th anniversary of BASH- Re-U-Knighted in BASH! Building A Scholastic He ritage is McQuaid's annual dinner/auction that helps offset the operating budget and provides financial assistance to students. BASH is organized by the Advancement Office, and is made possible by teachers, parents, students, alumni, and corporate sponsors.
Two major sources of income for this event are corporate sponsorships and pre-BASH gift giving parties. If you own or work for a company that can sponsor, click here for our sponsorship options and contact [email protected]aid.org; we are grateful for your support! Or, please consider hosting a pre-BASH party to raise money or collect items for the silent auction. Parties can be held in someone's home, a local store, restaurant, or whatever venue you choose. They can be as simple as having friends or family over to watch the Bill's game and charging $20 per "ticket". Or hosting a happy hour and asking each attendee to bring one gift card of their choice. Maybe your son plays a sport: you could talk to team parents and ask if they'd be willing to match your donation of $10, $20, $25. The money you raise goes directly towards school upgrades, operating costs, and scholarships (1 in 3 students at McQuaid receive need-based financial aid). There is no minimum expectation to host a party. Every dollar helps!
We also need volunteers. Teacher, student, and parent volunteers are the key to our success. It typically takes 300 members of the McQuaid community to make BASH happen, and it is a fun way to meet new friends. Adult volunteer positions include decorating for the event and plating dinners. Students can volunteer as waiters, dish washers, auction spotters, coat check, or valets, and more. The entrance of the student volunteers is always the highlight of the "knight"!
Finally, we hope that you will join us for BASH on March 25th, 2023! We recognize that many parents have not had the opportunity to get to know each other due to the pandemic-if you have not yet met McQuaid friends, you are not alone. We will ensure that you are seated with others from your son's grade, sports team, etc. And that it is a great time!
