30x40 acrylic on canvas - "This piece is part of my Spring Hill collection. Spring Hill is a rural piece of land in Ashland VA, that used to be a greenhouse nursery, and now I currently reside here. This piece is trying to capture the quiet busyness that occurs each morning as the sun rises and the world wakes up. Birds are chirping and moving, my chickens are foraging, frogs are singing and nature is blessing us peace and beauty, once again
9x12 Monoprint - acrylic on rice paper - 16" x 20" - For me, this summer has been much about trying to sit with my thoughts and quietly reflect, despite all of the noise and constant distractions that are put in front of us. I try to incorporate elements of nature, which is where I and I hope many others can find the most stillness. - Haley Jordan
30x40 acrylic and oil on canvas. - This piece was inspired by a young boy working to sell hand-woven, Palmetto roses in the streets of Downtown Charleston. There is an innocence and maturity in his eyes, and a look that was hard to forget. I still have that Palmetto rose in my studio in Ashland and often wonder where he is and what he's doing.
20x20, mixed media (acrylic, gold leaf, home-made texture paste) - This 3D, heavy textured piece features 3 song birds, dancing around each other in the beautiful, rhythmic, golden way birds do. I imagined them singing their tune and leaving pieces of gold shimmer as they moved effortlessly around each other. I hope this piece brings peace, joy and beauty to any passer-by.
