Artist Statement: This painting was inspired by the work of 20th century Modernist artist Giorgio Morandi whose compositions are often understated and minimalistic. I look for subtle color variations and harmonies. The cobalt blue used in this painting was hand-ground by one of my painting students.

Artist Statement: The Pin Oak Allée is an iconic Mohonk Preserve location and a favorite of mine. I love how I often see the late afternoon sun peeking through the trees and leaves. This painting includes a bench to welcome the viewer. I love the complements of purples and greens in the painting.
