The Sassafras community has been very musical this year. With parents and students bringing in instruments to share, learning new songs, and practicing rhythm work, our classroom has been full of music. With this in mind, children helped to paint 2 functional musical instruments for our live auction- a ukulele and a cajon.

Preserved moss wall art requires zero maintenance and is a calming addition to any home or office.
The botanical bas relief art was made by rolling out natural clay, selecting a plant or flower to place on the clay, gently rolling the flower/plant into the clay to create a mold then pouring plaster of Paris into the mold to set. After the plaster forms were removed from the clay and completely dry they were lightly sanded, sealed and hand painted with acrylic paint. The frames are 10x10" shadow box style with glass available if desired. The Sycamore students chose flowers/plants that they felt were beautiful/inspiring to represent them in the work. The 6 pieces are meant to be displayed as a collage on the owners wall. The black board is for auction display purposes only.

When asked what inspired the AP students, everyone instantly had the same idea - the AP campus. It is like a second home to the students and they love it. Each student has created life long memories. The AP students worked together to recreate a photo of the campus through painting. As the AP students have stated, "without the Waxhaw campus, we wouldn't be the people that we are now."
Call it executive training or leadership experience, either way, what would be more fun than being in charge at Omni Montessori School for a whole day? Upon arrival on Thursday, May 23, 2024, your elementary aged child will be given an employee badge, personalized business cards, and begin the day welcoming arriving students in the morning car line. From there, our Guest Head of School will spend the day visiting all the Blakeney campus classrooms, travel to the Waxhaw campus for a tour, treat the employees and make one rule or decree for the students (ie. "It's Dance Party Tuesday!"). The Administrative Team will be sure to snap photos throughout the day and will provide a memory book to commemorate the experience.
"Harmonious Depths" is a striking mosaic wall art crafted with care and creativity by the students of the Magnolia classroom. Each precut wooden piece was painted and placed by the students to form a gradient of blues that captures the depths of the classroom's collaborative spirit. The artwork is encased within a custom-made white frame, enhancing its visual impact and contemporary appeal. Signed on the back by the student artists and their guides Ms. Veronica and Ms. Stacy, this piece is a collective expression of their artistry and dedication.
The Ginkgo class invites your bid on their collection of Piet Mondrain inspired owls. After learning about this Dutch painter, students tried their hand at his signature artistic technique involving straight lines and the color palette of white, black, red, blue and yellow.
The Red Maple community has thoroughly enjoyed their immersion in fiber arts this year. They began with lessons on how to use a sewing machine and created some much-needed dust cloths for daily routines. This inspired the class to take on the really big work of creating a big, beautiful quilt. Inspired by the Omni colors, the children designed, cut, pinned, and sewed this extraordinary piece of cotton art themselves. Every aspect of this quilt required the Red Maple community to work together as a whole, and their hearts went into every stitch.
