The South Fork Hilton: A True Western Fly Fishing Adventure

Nestled on the banks of the South Fork of the Snake River, amidst canyon walls, riffles and islands, stands the "South Fork Hilton." Located one hour from Jackson Hole, WY and accessible only by boat, the South Fork Hilton overnight fly fishing adventure takes anglers to one of the premier dry-fly rivers in the country and treats them to two days on the water, complete with a stay at one of the most famous fly fishing camps in the Rocky Mountain West. Don't worry about bringing camping equipment, sleeping bags, cooking gear or tents, WorldCast Anglers will take care of everything for you!

The first day of your trip is spent working flies over rising trout, either from the drift boat or wading gravel bars and riffles. With no time constraints, your guide will row you into the heart of the West's most coveted secret, the South Fork Canyon. Enjoy the day fishing from the drift boat or wading riffles and side channels. As the sun sets, pouring shadows down the cliff walls, hatches begin to emerge. When other anglers are back sharing stories around the dinner table, you will be catching trout knowing that a warm comfortable fire and a mouth-watering meal are being prepared for you streamside by the private camp chef. Complementary wine and beer will be cooled in the groundwater spring located at camp, and appetizers and hors d'oeuvres will be waiting while the guide gets you acquainted in your own private wall tent complete with fresh linens, sleeping bags, cots, carpet, and wash towels. Enjoy spending the evening around the fire reliving the day's adventure and reflecting on the beauty of the area.

Morning starts with coffee and juice as the chef prepares a wonderful breakfast. All the while you are just a few yards from the rivers edge. With the belly full and the gear back in order from all of the previous day's fishing, simply step into the boat and you are casting for trout again. The second day is a long 16 miles of braided water, deep within the canyon, giving anglers the opportunity to see all aspects of fly fishing. Floating your hopper pattern along the overhanging brush, sight casting to schools of rising trout on the gravel bars, or wading up some of the tiny side channels to catch big elusive browns are just a few examples of the diversity this river has to offer. Maybe even try your luck at the "South Fork Grand Slam": Native Cutthroat (Yellowstone or Snake River Fine Spotted Subspecies), Rainbow, Brown Trout and Cutt-bow!
