Edinburgh at Festival Time
Live ItemAn exclusive opportunity for VIP access at The Edinburgh International Festival, and accommodation at Gladstone's Land where you can soak up the atmosphere of historic Edinburgh.
A party of two will experience the ultimate performing arts getaway in lively Edinburgh! You will enjoy four nights in a recently renovated one-bedroom apartment at one of the best addresses the city has to offer in the center of Edinburgh's Old Town. The interiors are inspired by Gladstone's Land residents from the early 1630s and you will find traces of their story throughout the apartment. Pop downstairs for a sweet treat at the new ice cream parlor and coffee shop inspired by the refreshment rooms and ice cream shops that were prevalent on the Lawnmarket in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the public houses and dairies that operated out of the property.
The highlight of your trip will be the opportunity to immerse yourself in world-class dance, opera, music and theater at the Edinburgh International Festival, which celebrates its 75th year in 2022. Attend the opening night performance of Burn, the new creation from legendary Scottish author and actor Alan Cumming and the Olivier award-winning and internationally renowned choreographer Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child). This brand-new piece of dance theatre challenges the 'biscuit tin' image of Scotland's National Bard and goes beyond the poetry to focus on the man himself - his poverty, his personal tragedy, his struggles with mental health and his spectacular success.
Then, enjoy 4 VIP tickets to the performance of your choice at the 75th anniversary of the Edinburgh International Festival August 5- 28, 2022. Tickets will include passes to EIF's exclusive Patrons Lounge for interval drinks at most performances.
Accommodations are for four nights in August 2022 or 2023, subject to availability. Edinburgh International Festival tickets are valid for performances in 2022 ONLY. It is recommended make bookings as far in advance as possible due to the popularity of the city in August. Note that the apartment is located in an old and historic building. It is accessed via a stone spiral staircase, so be prepared for some exertion to reach the room.

"Forget Me Not" Wax Seal Ring
$375This hand-cast ring was modified from a much-used 19th-century Scottish wax seal.
As with all of Erica Weiner's antique and handmade jewels, this ring has a wonderful story to tell. History and humor infuse Erica's designs, which are always made with love.
The original piece had multiple stamps with wonderfully cryptic sentiments and images, all appearing in mirror-image reverse. This was so when the seal was pressed into hot wax, the text would be embossed legibly, right-side-around. It features a ring base with rustic detail intact to reference the object's utilitarian history and an orange sapphire, which creates a juxtaposition of unpolished metal and bling. Note that your ring's text will be backwards, just like the original artifact.

Like Sir Walter, Gordon is committed to the preservation and celebration of his national heritage through his favorite medium.

Mini Gin Pig Decanter
$65This adorable mini decanter is shaped like a pig, inspired by the two antique gin pigs in the collection at Brodie Castle.
The decanter is handmade and hand filled in the Angels' Share Glass Bridge of Allan studio and feature a cork stopper for the nose, delicate pink ears, and subtle blue eyes. The pig is held by the tail and the drink can be poured through the nose, portrayed by a cork stopper, and then re-filled later.
Following on from the 'Gin Craze' of the early eighteenth century when half of the London drinking establishments were gin bars, and later when the aristocracy of the Victorian era had 'Gin Palaces' there was a desire for specially made jugs and decanters to display how wealthy the household was. Many of these were made from hand blown glass and were known as Gin Pigs.
Gin Pigs did not always come in the form of a pig, some establishments favoured dogs or fish. With the recent renaissance of gin, with an emphasis on Scottish gin, the history of these vessels has been uncovered and the desire to recreate these is now in the hands of the expert glassblowers at Angels' Share Glass.
This Gin Pig is filled with 50ml/5cl of Artisan Scottish Gin at 40% ABV. approx 70mm diameter - it's is a miniature sized measure.
You must be of legal drinking age to bid on this item.

Glass Whisky Angel
$25This decorative keepsake combines whisky and art.
A true legend in Scotland's whisky-making history, "The Angels' Share" is a term for the measure of a distilled spirit's volume that is lost to evaporation whilst the whisky is maturing in its cask or barrel. This unique design by Angels' Share Glass captures the measure in a sealed glass angel through a secret process, known only to the highly skilled craftsmen who have created it.
This whisky angel holds a pewter crest adorned with a Scottish Thistle, the national flower of Scotland. Holding 25ml of Scotch single malt whisky, this remarkable design allows the spirit to be captured in the molten glass without combusting.
Approximately 70mm in height, the angel is beautifully boxed and comes complete with a delightful story.
The whisky is not for drinking and is completely sealed, so you can keep your favorite dram forever.
Tom Young MBE and daughter Karen produce beautiful glassware, creating the very best in innovative and creative concepts. Together they have supplied some of the world's leading distillers with products used for the distilling process. The idea for the business was born out of the Legend of The Angels' Share After watching a Film of the same name. Karen & Tom designed the Whisky Angel. This is now the signature product and the glassware range has evolved around whisky and spirits ever since.

Isle of Canna Appeal
Any AmountThe tiny Hebridean Isle of Canna holds an outsized place in ScottÂish culture - and in our hearts. Now we have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to make sure this extraordinary island and the treasures it holds are protected and made accessible to visitors from around the world.
In 1981, the National Trust for Scotland received an incredible bequest from Dr. John Lorne Campbell and his American wife, Margaret Fay Shaw - the remote Hebridean island where they lived and worked for over forty years.
John, a pioneering Gaelic scholar, and Margaret, a folklorist and photographer, purchased the island in 1938 and together made a home in Canna House. Over the decades, they amassed an extensive archive of audio and film recordings featuring Scots Gaelic songs and folklore, as well as poetry, photographs, and publications. Their collection remains one of the most important archives of Scots Gaelic language and culture in the world.
Since 2006, with the generous support of American donors, The National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA has had the privilege to grant funds for critical work on Canna. We've underwritten the conservation and digitization of archival materials and funded urgent repairs to Canna House, where the collection is stored.
Today we're embarking on an ambitious plan to improve access - both physical and virtual - to the natural, built, and cultural heritage of Canna and to the globally-renowned collection amassed by John and Margaret.
And we're asking for your help. Your donation today will have an impact for generations.
Donors of $200 or more will receive an exclusive NTSUSA USB containing a digital file of the film Solas, which has never been previously available in the United States.
