A $200 gift through our Giving Tree supports S.E.L.F.'s Parent Education Webinar series. Our webinars provide families & community members with information & resources on special education advocacy, legal, & school-related topics.
A gift of $500 through our Giving Tree can provide an in-person bilingual clinic on special education law and advocacy to a group of 12 to 15 families.
Proyecto de Educación Especial is our multilingual special education civics & advocacy curriculum. Offered online in seven languages, Proyecto is also offered on an in-person basis in partnership with local agencies & nonprofits.
A gift of $1000 through our Giving Tree can support a family in need through a full grant from our Advocacy Support Program.
Our Advocacy Support Program provides families in need with $1000 in grant support from a qualified special education advocate. This program provides training guidance, and assistance to families who are navigating the special education process.
A gift of $2500 through our Giving Tree can support a family in need by providing an educational evaluation for a student with special education needs.
A evaluation is a crucial component of the special education process. Without a current and accurate evaluation, goals, supports, and services for a student may be out of date or woefully inadequate. Providing students with a timely evaluation so their educational process can move forward is part of S.E.L.F.'s mission.
A gift of $5000 through our Giving Tree can support a family in need by providing a full legal support grant from a qualified special education attorney through our Legal Assistance Program.
The Legal Assistance Program is S.E.L.F.'s flagship grants program for families. The Legal Assistant Program provides $5000 in grant support to families in need with children in the special education system in Connecticut and New York.
