Bathing Time by Sears Gallagher (1869-1955) etching, 8 x 6.75 inches, 16.25 x 14.75 inches framed, includes 7 x 6 inch original copper plate (on back of frame). After studying in Paris, Sears Gallagher became a well-known painter, etcher, and teacher in the Boston area. He frequented Monhegan Island and was much inspired by the surrounding landscape. He has over 200 etchings in the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection, in addition to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Honolulu Academy of Art.
