STEAM + Art Collaboration

To infuse Earth Day into Art and STEAM, Mrs. Sherlock and Mrs. Collins designed a multi-unit sculpture that celebrates how Jacksonville's implementation of the Emerald Path embraces the sustainable living and encourages the emergence of the 15-minute community.

Our students have handcrafted all of the components of the project except for the woodwork donated by Mrs. Sherlock's father, Mr. Mayfield. The protect features 100-year-old reclaimed barn wood, hand-spun pottery, recycled cotton macrame rope, succulents, and a splash of RPDS blue!

The enthusiasm and participation have inspired discussion and created opportunities for both students and teachers to truly appreciate our community's strides toward a net-zero environment to ensure a healthier Earth tomorrow!

This inspiring sculpture will be on display and available for purchase (in units) at the live event.

Support Professional Development

When you support our teachers' professional development and educational growth with a gift, you enrich our students' learning experience and enhance the quality of teaching and engagement that takes place in the classrooms.

For almost 75 years, RPDS teachers have been at the forefront of education, utilizing best practices and the most current pedagogy to inspire the hearts and minds of students across generations. Help us continue this legacy by investing in our faculty and their professional development.  By giving now, or Raising Your Paddle (at the live event), you will directly provide educational opportunities for faculty to increase their knowledge, skill, and ability to innovate in the areas of mathematics, literacy, writing, STEAM, and the visual and performing arts.

Thank you for bringing the best learning opportunities to RPDS students through our outstanding faculty. We are truly grateful for the inspiration you are providing them, so they can in turn inspire our children.
