What is the Crab Feed?

Each year since 1999, the Boosters take over the glamorous Albert H. Dewitt Officers' Club at Alameda Point for crab dinner, drinks, dessert, live entertainment, silent auction, and live auction. Four hundred people attend every year to support Encinal Athletics, enjoying 900 pounds of fresh local crab.

The Crab Feed is the Boosters' Super Bowl--it's our largest fundraiser of the year and makes almost everything we do possible. All proceeds go directly to athletics programs at Encinal High School.

The Encinal High School Boosters 22nd Annual Crab Feed Dinner & Auction will be held on March 5, 2022, at the historic O'Club on Alameda's former Naval base. 

How does the auction work?

The event begins with a silent auction, with attendees bidding on high-quality items donated by local parents and businesses. Previous auction items have included artwork, Tahoe getaways, A's tickets, date nights, and spa days. The later live auction is a high-energy event that has included international vacations, private parties, and dessert and drink pairings for your table. 

This year, we'll be using an online platform for bidding--so you don't even need to be present to bid.

What's the difference between General Admission and VIP?

Tickets can be purchased individually (General Admission) or as VIP tables of 10. General Admission seating is in the Trident Room, and is first-come-first-served (don't worry, we won't sell more tickets than we have seats).

To ensure your party is seated together in the Main Dining Room, the ideal location for the live auction and entertainment, you can purchase a VIP table for 10. VIP tables come with 2 bottles of wine. 

All tickets include our full crab dinner (or noodles) with salad, potato, bread, and dessert. 

Will you require proof of vaccine or negative COVID test?

We're planning to follow local guidance for in-person dining and events, which means we will require proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test (within 72 hours). We'll notify all registered guests of our policy as we get closer.

Will you offer refunds in case the live, in-person event is canceled?

Yes, if we can't hold an in-person event due to COVID, we'll refund your ticket and hold the auction virtually. We're closely monitoring the situation and working on our back-up plans. Bear with us.

Is there a vegetarian option?

Yes, guests who don't eat crab can request garlic noodles from their server.

How can I volunteer?

The Boosters are entirely volunteer-run, and the Crab Feed relies on over a hundred parent, coach, and student volunteers. How can I donate?

How can I avoid credit card fees?

To accept credit cards, the Boosters must pay fees to credit card companies. Having our donors cover these fees ensures more money goes to our mission: supporting athletes. But we know fees suck.
