"Through-A-Glass" Brooches by Joan Finton

Joan Finton has been making "Through-A-Glass" brooches for many years, and believe the process to be unique. The image you see is montage of intricately cut papers pressed with glue to the underside of an eyeglass lens, backed with an acrylic modeling paste and finished by sanding and painting.

It is labor-intensive, but creatively enjoyable process, yielding a one-of-a-kind piece. Each brooch is unique; no two are alike. The bits of gold on most brooches will catch the light in surprising ways.
