TRÖT by Studio 6F | Gil Melott Bespoke with Cambria and Beckerworks Ltd
The Dog Trot House, a predominant design in the south, was used to separate sleeping and cooking functions by an open breezeway for both safety (fire) and atmospheric (cooling breezeway effect) of the common areas. The dogs could literally trot through the space. The designs were originally thought to have been brought to the US from the Dutch who settled in Pennsylvania. It has become a popular design in modern open space living.
