About Boys & Girls Club of Walworth County
The Boys & Girls Club of Walworth County opened its first club in October 2013 at Phoenix Middle School in Delavan. With support from friends like you we are able to expand the impact we have on local kids every year! We currently run a dropout prevention program called Be Great: Graduate at Phoenix Middle School & Delavan-Darien High School that focuses on improving attendance, behavior and academic performance. The students participating have already taken great strides towards reaching their academic goals.
At Boys & Girls Club of Walworth County, it is our goal to lead the way in youth development programs by working together with local businesses, foundations and community programs to produce positive outcomes for as many young people and their families as possible.
Take a look at some of the ways we served the Walworth County community in 2021:
- Surprised 2 families with holiday shopping sprees
- Hosted 10 community events and participated in 4 partner events
- Partnered with 25 community organizations
- Recruited 13 volunteers
- Enrolled 7 middle & high school students who are not on track to graduate into our drop prevention program called Be Great: Graduate putting us at 20 DDSD students enrolled in the program
- Provided 402 free meals feeding 1,412 residents of Walworth County
- Donated 175 masks and bottles of hand sanitizer to families
- Distributed 756 free books to local youth between the "Let it Glow" event and Darien Elementary School book giveaway
