An LCDS tradition, our Poetry Coffeehouse is a unique experience where each eighth grader composes and delivers a poem aloud to our community.

These poems have now been published in a beautiful book that also includes a portrait of each eighth grader taken on our campus. This keepsake is a wonderful memento of the Class of 2022's LCDS experience.

Help Your Child Fall in Love With Writing This Summer! Adventures in Writing Camp is a two-week, full-day camp for campers entering grades 1-8. Camp runs 9am to 3pm, M-F, with extended care from 8-9am and 3-6pm daily.

Authors, teachers, and musicians are teaming up to help students fall in love with writing this summer! Adventures in Writing Camp is a two-week "day camp" program that allows elementary campers to write, edit, and publish their own eBooks, and middle-schoolers to create short stories and turn them into animatics! Campers learn and create under the guidance of credentialed teachers, musicians, and authors. Lessons are delivered as songs. New writing skills are practiced by writing (family-friendly) rap songs. Former Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, was thrust into the eye of the storm when he became Acting Director of the Bureau after former President Trump's firing of then-Director James Comey on April 28, 2022 . What occurred over the next several months before his abrupt dismissal just hours before his retirement in March of 2018-and McCabe's efforts to ensure the investigation of Russian interference into the 2016 election-is most certainly worthy of a novel or spy thriller.

Participants in this event will be treated to a private book talk by Andy McCabe who will share his experiences, insights, discuss his book, and answer questions.
