Terms and Conditions

• In order to award the year of free tuition, a minimum of 250 tickets must be sold. In the event that less than 250 tickets are sold, the winner of the raffle will split the raffle ticket revenues with Loudoun Country Day School 50/50.
• If the 250 ticket threshold is met, the winner of the raffle will receive one year of free tuition for the 2022-2023 school year (a maximum value of $30,470.00). For families with multiple children enrolled at Loudoun Country Day School, the year of free tuition will be applied to the first child; subsequent children will be enrolled at the applicable discounted sibling rates.
• No more than 350 tickets will be sold.
• Anyone over the age of 18 may purchase tickets, and the number of tickets any one person may borrow is not limited, other than the 350 ticket cap on total ticket sales.
• The winner of the year of free tuition may specify any student who has a valid enrollment agreement on file with Loudoun Country Day School and the applicable enrollment deposit paid by April 1, 2022, to receive the year of free tuition.
• Loudoun Country Day School will refund any monies already paid toward 2022-2023 school year tuition (including the applicable re-enrollment deposit) to the parents of the student who is receiving the free tuition.
• The drawing will be held on April 2, 2022, during the annual Green and Blue Gala. The winner does NOT need to be present to win.
• If the 250 ticket threshold is met, no cash substitutions are permitted.
• If the student who received free tuition withdraws from Loudoun Country Day School for any reason during the 2022-2023 school year (including expulsion), there will be no refunds of any unused tuition nor may any unused tuition be transferred to another student.
• The winner is responsible for any and all applicable state and federal taxes.

Join us in a fun game to kick off the live auction! For $20, you will receive a wristband at the Gala, and you can play for a chance at half the pot. Simply choose "heads" or "tails" before the coin flip. Heads--put your hands on your heads. Tails--put your hands on your tail. If you win the coin flip, you stay in the game! Last one standing wins half the pot - the other half goes to LCDS!

Note: if you purchase the Heads or Tails Wristband in advance, please make sure you pick it up at the registration table!

The coaches in our lives make an indelible impression on our children. They are a close-knit part of our community and lives. Students, fans and team members will have games that may be won or lost, but no one will ever forget the life lessons given to them by their teacher and coach.

The scoreboard is an integral part of every game and event, of every coach's and athlete's life. Not only does it herald school spirit, it tells the team where they are and where they should be--information essential to team problem-solving, decision-making, and success. As the saying goes, if you're not keeping score, it's only practice.

A scoreboard lets you know how you're doing in this moment of your life:

The clock occupies a prominent space on any scoreboard. Although the score determines winners and losers, the clock brings a sense of urgency and perspective. It holds us accountable. Until the final tick of the clock, the meaning of the score is tempered by the amount of time remaining. Thanks to Yogi Berra, we know "It ain't over till it's over."

The scoreboard reveals the numerical rewards for achieving goals. It will not only celebrate our Eagles' successes, but it will drive them to succeed!

When our kindergarteners first saw and touched the quilt squares they made come together into this one great big beautiful piece, they exclaimed, It's the softest pillow ever!" A true labor of love, this hand-stitched (yes, hand-stitched!) masterpiece features kid-created, Eric Carle-inspired textured collages and colorful prints and shapes in the cuddliest fabrics. It's a one-of-a-kind heirloom your kids can pass down to their own kindergartener one day.

Our kindergarteners took the beauty and rich hues of Eric Carle's iconic The Very Quiet Cricket (which they'll be performing on April 7) and translated it into bright, funky resin art with each child's name incorporated in beads. These fabulous pop-art creations can be used as coasters or displayed in their stands.

An LCDS tradition, our Poetry Coffeehouse is a unique experience where each eighth grader composes and delivers a poem aloud to our community.

These poems have now been published in a beautiful book that also includes a portrait of each eighth grader taken on our campus. This keepsake is a wonderful memento of the Class of 2022's LCDS experience.
