1-5 Students can join us for breakfast one Friday morning in May or June at 8:00 am (Date TBD). We will make pancakes together and read the story, "If You Give a Pig a Pancake." We will have a delicious breakfast and a fun time! :)

Games with Ms Bauer

Your child and 2 friends get to have a game day with Ms. Bauer! The group will get to stay after school one day and play different board games and activities with Ms. Bauer. This experience includes a pre-planning lunch bunch where the group will get to eat lunch with Ms. Bauer (during the school day) and plan which games they want to play. Then on the actual game day, Ms. Bauer will provide the snacks, drinks and games. If the weather is nice we may be outside, if not, we will be in the classroom. The event will be from 3:30-5pm on a mutually agreed upon Monday, Tuesday or Friday in May or June.

Games & Snacks with Ms Briggs

This experience is open for up to 4 first grade students in my class. We will have snacks and play games after school on a mutually agreed upon date in the spring.

1st Grade Nature Fun with Ms Perll

One 1st Grade student and 3 lucky friends will meet Ms. Perll at the Rock Creek Nature Center one Saturday or Sunday before the end of the school year. We will spend a couple of hours exploring the nature center, hiking in the woods around the nature center, and having a snack together.

Picnic in the Park with Ms Campbell

The winner and two friends will join Ms. Campbell at Lafayette Pointer Park for an afternoon picnic on a Thursday in June. End the afternoon with ice cream from Broad Branch.

Cat Café & Cupcakes with Ms. Daley

Your child and one friend can join Ms. Daley to a session at the Georgetown Cat Cafe (Crumbs and Whiskers) followed by a visit to Georgetown Cupcake! The experience will take place after school hours in May or June, on an agreed upon date and time.

Ms Ratliff's Pizza Lunch with Teacher and Friends

The winning students will invite three friends to meet Ms. Ratliff for a pizza and ice cream lunch at Potomac Pizza. Parents must provide transportation to and from lunch. We will meet on a Saturday or Sunday in May or June.

Can't make it to Paris for the Roland Garros French Open? It is time to find out how sharp your tennis game at Lafayette-Pointer Park. You can follow in the footsteps of Tiafoe; Brooksby; Fritz, Pegula, Kenin, Collins and other rising American stars to find out if you are ready to go on the road. You will join in a tennis extravaganza at Lafayette-Pointer Park. You will be playing doubles in a qualifying tennis tournament using a round robin format of short 4 game no-ad matches after a half hour to warm-up your shots and serve (must have a 29.3% first serve accuracy). You change partners every match so you can only blame your spousal partner for one poor match. Teams can consist of any combination of men; women and youth. We will have healthy drinks and snacks to sustain you along the way.

In between matches we will have in-depth discussions (French optional) how well your choices did in the French Open. Everyone who plays will be a winner; but the 4 people with the most points in the tournament will be awarded a $25 gift certificate to the Tennis Zone shop over on Wisconsin Avenue. The Tennis Zone will also be giving us a few loaners of some of the latest racquets available this season so you can try them out if you want to blame your game on your old racquet instead of the wind and sun.

What is Snap Happy: Photography 101?
This 3-hour hands-on workshop is designed to equip moms and dads with photography fundamentals. This allows them to capture spontaneous childhood moments with polish and prowess. The workshop translates theory into simple tricks you can quickly apply to each snapshot. All regardless of what camera model you're working with. I'm a professional photographer who will teach you the skills you need. Together, you'll put them into practice alongside other Lafayette parents.

Bike for your Breakfast! Grab your bike and join the Sheives family (Kevin, Katie Boehret, Liam and Harrison) for a 45-minute adult and child ride throughout the neighborhood. After the ride, you'll be rewarded for your hard work with a delicious breakfast with an omelette chef (read: relax while someone else feeds you and your children). So warm up those quads, test out your bike bell, and put a little extra air in your tires. NOTE: This ride is best for moderate to advanced kid and adult riders. The Dabney highlights the Mid-Atlantic's diverse food culture with dishes and ingredients sourced from the region's finest farmers and purveyors. The four-course prix-fixe menu changes daily based on the flavors and ingredients of the season and features dishes prepared almost exclusively on the restaurant's ten-foot-long wood-burning hearth. Since opening in 2015, The Dabney has received numerous recognitions, including a Michelin star (2016 - 2021). The Dabney is also consistently one of the toughest reservations to get in town, but the good news is that the winner of this auction item will get insider access to advance reservations for the date of their choice! Enjoy a 4 day stay in a lakefront house in Lake Anna, VA. Less than a 2 hour drive from DC, this 6 bedroom house is perfect for a family getaway. Situated in a quiet cove, the house offers direct water access with swimming off the dock, and boats for rent nearby. Large yard to play in, and we have tons of indoor and games, water floats, foosball, ping pong, etc available for use. Screened in porch, outdoor shower, and hot tub also available for use. .Bedrooms include 2 rooms with king sized beds, 2 with queens, 1 with a full, and 1 with bunk beds + trundle. Will need to work with owner on available dates.

Own an amazing memory of your 5th grader's time here at Lafayette by winning this priceless treasure! This year's traditional 5th grade quilt combines "flying geese" and "pinwheel" in rainbow colors. Every 5th grader learned about the role of quilt making in American history and about the possible role of quilts in the Underground Railroad. Each 5th grade student hand sewed a patch on our quilt and interested students combined those patches into a quilt top using the sewing machines. Finally, students tied colorful knots to adhere the quilt "sandwich" together and all our students signed the back. Thank you to parent volunteers and especially parent alum Don Rutledge for their assistance with the sewing machines!
