The most accessible (but still mind-blowing, and life-threatening) hiking route up Longs passes through the cirque on the right, through the Keyhole, and ascends the west side to the football-field sized summit. In this winter portrait, Chasm Lake is iced over. Better to climb Longs on that one day every summer when there are no thunderstorms.
