Special Portrait Session
$958x10 Tintype Portrait Session
Generously Donated by:
Alex from Silver Graphic Tintypes
Silver Graphic Co- Tintype Gift Certificate: "Wet Plate tintypes was a photographic process that was first discovered in 1851 with the initial chemical recipes and procedures made public by Sir Fredrick Scott Archer. This is arguably the very beginning of photography as we know it, as it was the main technique in image making throughout the 19th century and led to the inventions of most modern imaging technologies today. This process uses multiple chemical reactions to create a light sensitive plate on which an image can be formed. Once the plate has been exposed to the image in a camera, it then must undergo several more chemical reactions to fully develop, fix, and protect it for archivability. The finished result is an image made of pure metallic silver on the original metal or glass plate. As long as it is properly cared for, these plates will last indefinitely. These one-of-a-kind heirlooms are thoughtfully created with the intention that they will be treasured keepsakes for future generations. Alex, owner of Silver Graphic utilizes historic photographic processes because of the beautiful image quality, archival properties and their unique ability to allow him and his clients to slow down and capture a glimpse into the fragile intricateness of humanity. Alex is a local photographer in the Fox Valley and has years of experience not only photographing beautiful moments but developing film and helping other photographers grow. "

Go to website:
The Hearthstone Historic House Museum is a nationally renowned historic site of international significance.
Hearthstone Historic House was the first private residence anywhere in the world to be illuminated using hydroelectricity from a central Edison system. The switch was thrown on September 30, 1882 only two weeks after the first-ever Edison central station, which was powered by steam, was operational in New York City. The house still contains the original Edison electroliers, original light switches, and some of the world's only examples of original Edison wiring in situ. Hearthstone is on the National Register of Historic Places for its technological, historic, architectural, and artistic significance.
However, this beautifully restored house and museum is much more...
It is excellent example of Queen Anne Victorian Style architecture, designed by a leading architect of the day, with breathtaking interiors.
It is "hard wired" into local history as its story is the story of the history of Wisconsin, of the Gilded Age, and of fortunes won and lost.
It is a look to the past but it is also a look to the future - a look featuring hydroelectricity and renewable power, individually powered homes, and what it means to be a visionary.
