Artwork Created by:
residents living with dementia at
Dimensions are 17 inches by 23 3/4 Inches
This creative engagement opportunity was a group collaboration. Residents ripped pages out of magazines and then used fine motor skills to roll the magazine pages into small tubes, to later be assembled together. Some residents worked carefully to roll the magazine pages as tight as possible, while some residents made larger rolls. Through teamwork and brainstorming together, the residents assembled the magazine rolls to their canvas to create a unique, abstract piece of art.
This beautiful piece symbolizes Fox Valley Memory Project's mission of helping people living with memory loss to continue doing what they love and to spark positive memories from their life.

"Bluebird"
$175"Bluebird"
Artwork Created by:
a resident living with dementia at
Dimensions are 18 inches by 15 inches
During this creative engagement, the focus was on recreating a still-life that was presented in front of the resident. This resident worked with adapted materials to help recreate the simple colored still-life bird in front of them. This resident in particular only has use of their non-dominant hand. The facilitator fixed the mixed media paper to the table and placed an adaptive hand-grip on the paintbrush, for better grip, to allow the resident to create independently. The resident chose one color and painted the image of the bird and added their own detail.

Special Portrait Session
$958x10 Tintype Portrait Session
Generously Donated by:
Alex from Silver Graphic Tintypes
Silver Graphic Co- Tintype Gift Certificate: "Wet Plate tintypes was a photographic process that was first discovered in 1851 with the initial chemical recipes and procedures made public by Sir Fredrick Scott Archer. This is arguably the very beginning of photography as we know it, as it was the main technique in image making throughout the 19th century and led to the inventions of most modern imaging technologies today. This process uses multiple chemical reactions to create a light sensitive plate on which an image can be formed. Once the plate has been exposed to the image in a camera, it then must undergo several more chemical reactions to fully develop, fix, and protect it for archivability. The finished result is an image made of pure metallic silver on the original metal or glass plate. As long as it is properly cared for, these plates will last indefinitely. These one-of-a-kind heirlooms are thoughtfully created with the intention that they will be treasured keepsakes for future generations. Alex, owner of Silver Graphic utilizes historic photographic processes because of the beautiful image quality, archival properties and their unique ability to allow him and his clients to slow down and capture a glimpse into the fragile intricateness of humanity. Alex is a local photographer in the Fox Valley and has years of experience not only photographing beautiful moments but developing film and helping other photographers grow. "

Artwork Created by:
a resident living with dementia at
Dimensions are 17 inches by 21 inches
During this creative engagement session, residents created collages of trees made of fabric. The resident's hand was traced on brown fabric first to create the trunk and branches, and the resident then cut out the outline of their hand. The fabric leaves of various prints were pre-cut. This resident layered the pieces of fabric carefully and particularly to resemble the tree they wanted to portray. This engagement was to reminisce about nature and trees and springtime

Heathstone House Photo
$75Hearthstone House and Museum Photo
Go to website:
The Hearthstone Historic House Museum is a nationally renowned historic site of international significance.
Hearthstone Historic House was the first private residence anywhere in the world to be illuminated using hydroelectricity from a central Edison system. The switch was thrown on September 30, 1882 only two weeks after the first-ever Edison central station, which was powered by steam, was operational in New York City. The house still contains the original Edison electroliers, original light switches, and some of the world's only examples of original Edison wiring in situ. Hearthstone is on the National Register of Historic Places for its technological, historic, architectural, and artistic significance.
However, this beautifully restored house and museum is much more...
It is excellent example of Queen Anne Victorian Style architecture, designed by a leading architect of the day, with breathtaking interiors.
It is "hard wired" into local history as its story is the story of the history of Wisconsin, of the Gilded Age, and of fortunes won and lost.
It is a look to the past but it is also a look to the future - a look featuring hydroelectricity and renewable power, individually powered homes, and what it means to be a visionary.

"Through the Fog" Painting"
$100Original "Through the Fog" Painting by Jenna Kast
Generously Donated by:
20 Inches by 20 Inches
ABOUT JENNA
Most days you'll find her in paint-splattered leggings, sipping a coffee with paint under her brightly-colored fingernails (which she insists on keeping long because).
She has always been a creative type, but her journey as a fine artist didn't start until she was in her early 30s and realized that she wanted to start living her life for her. So she picked up a paintbrush and hasn't put it down since.
ABOUT HER ART
Her connection to a physical piece of art is very visceral. The colors, brushstrokes and texture tell a story and history that is unique to every painting.
She is an intuitive painter, meaning everything that comes out of her brush flows from her directly onto the canvas. Her work is colorful, emotional, expressive and freeing. And the story of each work is up for interpretation by the viewer.

David Coolidge Artwork
$200Generously donated by:
FVMP volunteer Amy Galloway, and her husband Pat. This beautiful original piece of art was part of their family home for years on the island in Neenah.
About the artist:
Originally from the Midwest, Coolidge graduated from Drake University, then lived in the Philadelphia area for twenty years. While there, David cites his apprenticeship with John Falter, noted cover illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post, as the high point of his art training. He later attended The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Temple University's Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy.
His continuing fascination for the colorful, bright images and lush foliage that watercolor creates inspires him. David has earned a reputation with collectors for paintings that recall an uncluttered "simplicity of former times." Extensive travel is evident in Coolidge's paintings. "When viewers associate a scene from a painting with a fond memory of a place that they have known, or with thoughts of a place they would like to go, I feel I've been successful," he says.

David has been selected to exhibit at the National Academy of Design in New York; Artists of America in Denver; and national Arts for the Parks in Jackson, Wyoming, where he won recognition for his painting "Lookout from Little Round Top" and received the Centennial Purchase Award from the Gettysburg National Military Park.
